1st Stanford in the Vale Scout Group

Dear all,

We hope you are well. We wanted to let you know that our Family Bingo Night, originally planned for Saturday 21st March, has been postponed to Saturday 2nd May. This change is to avoid a clash with one of the local school Bingo nights, and we hope the new date will allow more families to join us.

The event will still take place at Uffington Village Hall, starting at 6pm. Entry remains £4 for under 18s and £6 for adults, payable on the night. This is always a fantastic evening of fun for all ages, and it also plays a vital role in helping us raise funds for our summer term activities.

Who can attend?
We would love to see as many parents and children as possible.
Please note: This is not a drop off event—each child must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Friends, extended family, and anyone outside of Cubs are also very welcome to join us

Our young people at 1st Stanford in the Vale have been busy baking for our table at the Uffington Table Top sale which is being held on Sunday 8th February at the Thomas Hughes Memorial Hall between 10am and 1pm.

Please come down to pick up a sweet treat (or two) made by our very own 'star bakers' and help us raise funds for activities within our group.

The 1st Stanford in the Vale Scout Group (Uffington Groups) is looking for new Beavers and Cubs to join the fun! 🦫🐺

If your child loves making new friends, playing games, learning new skills, and going on exciting adventures, Scouts could be just the thing. We offer a safe, supportive, and fun environment where young people grow in confidence and have a great time doing it.

Cubs (ages 8–10½)

✨ Proceeds will support the 1st Stanford in the Vale Cubs, with a portion also going to a local wildlife charity.

🌟 Join the Adventure with 1st Stanford in the Vale Scouts! 🌟

We’re reaching out to our amazing community — because we really need your help! ❤️

Our Scout group is getting very low on volunteers, and we may soon face a tough situation where one of our sections can’t run 😢. That’s something none of us want to see — especially our young people who love their Scouting adventures!

We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our team in the following roles:
🟢 Team Leaders
🟣 Team Members (formerly Assistant Section Leaders)
💛 Fundraising Coordinator

You don’t need any previous Scouting experience — just a willingness to get involved, have fun, and make a difference. We promise there’s plenty of laughter, friendship, and a fair bit of campfire smoke too! 🔥

Scouting is all about helping young people grow in confidence, courage, and skills for life — and you could be part of that. 🌿
