10th Fareham Scout Group

Thank you so much for coming to visit - the support of local councillors can make a real difference to charities like us, and help us to continue offering great experiences to our young people!

Today I visited the 10th Fareham Scouts alongside Cllr Richard Harris and Cllr Paul Woolley to see whether they would be eligible for a County Councillor Grant.

After meeting with Richard the Scout master and seeing their facilities, we were all in agreement that they would greatly benefit from some support. Their outdoor areas are in need of some improvements and new equipment to help tidy the space and make it an even better environment for the young people who use it.

It was great to meet the team, hear about the work they do, and discuss how we can help support this valuable community group.

1 movement, 119 years; still going, stronger than ever 🙌🏻

It's our birthday, Scouts! 🎉 🥳 ✨

119 years since the very first experimental Scout camp pitched up on Brownsea Island, Dorset.

We’re so proud of everything our volunteers have done since then to give young people a place to belong. Thank you to you all! 🙌

A HUGE thank you to the team of tutors from The Rock Project - Portsmouth, Fareham & Waterlooville who visited our scout section earlier in the term to run a workshop where each scout learnt a song on the drums, bass, and guitar AND jammed it as a band - all in the space of an hour, which is no mean feat!

The Rock Project runs music sessions for young people aged 7-18 where students get an hour-long lesson in drums, bass, guitar, or vocals, as well as the chance to play as part of a band every week! If you'd like any more information, please do check out their page.

Thank you again, and well done to all our scouts who took part!
