-Who can use Dial-a-Ride? Dial-a-Ride can be used by Residents of the boroughs of Gosport and Fareham who are unable to use public transport for any reason. The reason can be long or short-term.
-What can Dial-a-Ride be used for? Dial-a-Ride trips can be used to go to visit friends or relatives, to go the shops, theatre,
library, hairdressers, swimming, bingo, youth clubs etc. These are merely suggestions - tell us where you want to go, as long as they are within the boroughs of Gosport and Fareham.
-What days and times is Dial-a-Ride available? Dial-a-ride trips run from 9:00 am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday. If you can be flexible about when you travel, it really helps us to make good use of the service. You can book up to two trips a week.
-What Dial-a-Ride limitations are there? We cannot promise to have a vehicle free every time you want to go out. We only have a limited number of vehicles, but will aways do our best to help. Also we cannot take you to hospital appointments, day centres or your GP. (These trips should be arranged by the hospital, Social Services or your Doctor).
-Helpers or Carers
If it is essential for you to be accompanied by a helper, they may travel with you free of charge. Please state this requirement on the registration form and explain why the helper is necessary.
-How much does Dial-a-Ride cost? Fares are based on a system similar to local bus fares. If you have a bus pass, there is a flat-rate return fare of £3. For those without a bus pass, there is a flat-rate fare of £6; vouchers may also be used. We just ask you to pay the driver - just as you would on a bus. Please make sure you pay at the start of your journey.
