The Parkinson’s Foundation and the American College of Sports Medicine have put out new guidelines aimed at making exercise more sustainable.

People with Parkinson's are waiting too long to access NHS care, and are struggling to get the financial support they need to live well.

In 2025, we worked closely with the Parkinson's community to make sure these issues were impossible to ignore. Together, we took lived experiences directly to decision makers across the UK and pushed for change.

We applied pressure and campaigned against the proposed changes to Personal Independence Payments (PIP) leading to The Minister removing PIP eligibility changes from the bill.

We relaunched our Can't Wait campaign, pushed for people in hospital to receive their medication on time and shaped national guidance and standards.

We've launched the next step in our Can’t Wait campaign in England, to make sure everyone living with Parkinson’s can see a specialist doctor or Parkinson’s nurse.

Specialist doctors and Parkinson’s nurses are central to providing the care and support for people living with Parkinson needs. Unfortunately, access to these specialists is varied, with 1 in 5 people having no access to a Parkinson’s nurse.

What we're asking people to do - we're calling on everyone to support our campaign and contact their Integrated Care Board (ICB) and ask them about their plans to:

- Make sure that people with Parkinson's can access Parkinson's nurses, geriatricians and neurologists who specialise in Parkinson's.
- Ensure the growing Parkinson's population is able to access Parkinson's nurses, geriatricians and neurologists who specialise in Parkinson's.

We've made it easy to contact ICBs through our online email tool šŸ‘‰ https://campaign.parkinsons.org.uk/page/184783/action/1

"I am pleased to have been part of a group that was looking at helping people with Parkinson’s control their medication when they find themselves away from home."

The Parkinson's Away-From-Home Kit is a range of tools to help people with Parkinson’s, and those who love and care for them, advocate for their Parkinson’s medications on time.

"You need to consider what would happen if you were away from home and something unforeseen happened which led to you running out of your time critical medication.

"I hope that you find this kit a valuable addition to your Parkinson’s toolkit and that it helps you keep control of your medication while you are away from home, whether it’s planned or unplanned."

The kit has been created in partnership with people with Parkinson’s and carers. You never know when you might need to go into hospital, so it's a good idea to prepare in case of an emergency stay.
