That’s a wrap! School’s out for summer!

The gates are closed.
The classrooms are empty.
The teachers have enough chocolates to survive until Christmas.
And somewhere, there’s a parent already hearing…

“Muuuum… I’m hungry.” 🤣

What a year it’s been.

From ice poles to the Summer Fayre, donation bins to discos, and everything in between, this amazing community has helped us raise thousands of pounds to make school life that little bit more magical for our children.

To every parent, grandparent, volunteer, local business and supporter… thank you. 💙

Today we also say goodbye to two wonderful members of our PTA family, Jamila and Kim, as their children head off to secondary school. Thank you both for your time, enthusiasm and the countless hours you’ve given to the school.

To every member of staff at Uplands… thank you for another incredible year. We hope you all enjoy a very well deserved break. (And good luck finding somewhere to put all those plant pots! 🪴😂)

The countdown begins…

Six weeks of…
🍎 “I’m hungry.”
🥤 “Can I have a snack?”
🚗 “Are we nearly there?”
📱 “Can I have your phone?”
🏡 “I’m boooooored.”
💷 “Can we go somewhere?”

…roughly every 17 minutes.

Parents… we salute you.

May your coffee stay hot.
May your patience remain mostly intact.
May your food actually make it to your own plate.
And may the odds be ever in your favour. 🫡☀️

Public Service Announcement to All School Parents

Today’s the day…

The books are coming home. 📚
The artwork is coming home. 🎨
The tiny scraps of paper that “are VERY IMPORTANT” are coming home. 📄
The mystery creations made from 17 lolly sticks, 3 pom poms and what appears to be half a pipe cleaner… they’re coming home too. 🧶

Basically, send your child in with the sturdiest bag you own, because they’re about to empty their classroom into it. 🤣

Remember… every masterpiece must be admired, praised, displayed on the fridge for the legally required amount of time…

…before being carefully relocated to the recycling bin under the cover of darkness. 🤫♻️

Good luck everyone. May your backs be strong and your fridge magnets even stronger. 💪😂

Plot twist! 🍦

Today’s Ice Pole Friday has officially… melted. 🫠

With today’s staggered finish times, mini humans escaping at different times, we’ve decided to give the freezer the afternoon off too.

Fear not! The freezer remains on standby, ready to return to active service next Friday with plenty of icy goodness. 😎🍦

Until then, stay cool, enjoy the weekend, and remember… only the ice poles are supposed to melt! ☀️🤣

SUMMER FAYRE: THE RESULTS ARE IN!

The glitter has settled.

The teddies have found new homes.

The lucky dip prizes have been liberated.

And several children are still recovering from the shock of being told they can’t have everything.

So… how did we do?

YOU HELPED RAISE £2,711.43!

A huge thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, attended, bought raffle tickets, had a go on the stalls and helped make the day such a success.

Thank you to all the parents, grandparents, families and friends who came along and supported the fayre. Your generosity, enthusiasm and willingness to part with loose change for “just one more go” helped make the day what it was. 💙

A special thank you to our PTA team, who have spent weeks behind the scenes making the magic happen.

And a shout out to Sarah, who was involved in about approximately 97% of everything. We’re still not entirely sure how. 💙

Special thanks to our school staff and, of course, the children, who spent 50p with the confidence of international high rollers and approached every stall as if they had an unlimited credit facility. 😂

LAST CALL - Secrete Present Room

The Secret Present Room closes at 10:30pm tonight.

That's roughly enough time to:

On Friday, the children will be unleashed into the Secret Present Room to choose their gifts.

Will they return home with a pen, a mug... or a unicorn?

Nobody knows, the mystery is all part of the experience.

The gifts will then be lovingly placed into one of the PTA's surprisingly vast collection of Christmas gift bags. 🎁

At 10:31pm, a small team of PTA volunteers will be knee-deep in gift bags and caffeine, and the booking window will be firmly closed.
