It’s been a quieter week at Hampshire Chamber of Commerce as we prepare for a busy run-up to the end of the year, with networking, regional engagement and event planning continuing.

⭐️Bringing businesses together

Our Chamber Connects! event brought businesses together at YMCA Fairthorne Group. Thank you to Ross Owen and the team for hosting us, and to everyone who joined the conversations.

⭐️Skills and economic engagement

Ross McNally continued his engagement on education and skills through Hampshire & the Solent LSIP. He also attended the Bank of England lunch at the Hilton Southampton – Utilita Bowl.

⭐️Planning and transport

Lisa Hall attended our Planning & Transport Business Strategy Group meeting, where the Fawley Waterside team presented their proposals.

Jack Goodman attended Air Copiers’ fundraiser for Abby’s Heroes alongside Peter Robertson, visited Avon Tyrrell, part of UK Youth, and caught up with members online.

⭐ Wi******er Business Voice
Zulfiya Truscott represented the Chamber at Wi******er BID’s Board meeting, sharing updates on membership, events, our latest Quarterly Economic Survey and local skills priorities.

⭐ Regional Engagement
Ross McNally met University of Portsmouth representatives about the Hampshire and Solent LSIP, attended the Solent Growth Partnership Business Board meeting and networking event, and met Dr Ruth Adams, Chief Executive of Hampshire and Solent Combined County Authority.

⭐ Supporting Local Recovery
Lisa Hall represented Ross at the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Local Resilience Forum’s Business and Economy Working Group following the Picket Post fire. Discussions explored the impact of the fire and A31 closure on businesses and communities, and opportunities to support recovery and strengthen economic resilience.

Mandy Boughton and LSIP colleagues Emma, Orla and Jenny attended our Education & Skills Forum at the University of Portsmouth, bringing education and training providers together.

Running from 9–13 November, this year’s theme is Skills for the Future. The week brings together opportunities to connect and learn, with events covering AI, green innovation, practical business skills and careers.
