PVWI had a very interesting talk from Aimee -community safety officer , regarding fire safety in our homes. Some of our members have already booked home safety visits after hearing the presentation from Aimee .
On Sunday several members did a sponsored ‘triathlon’ for charity. Those that were at the meeting last night were excited to receive medals 🥇 for their achievement . 🤩Sponsorship money is still being collected for this event

6 members from Portchester Village WI took on a challenge to raise money for their chosen charity Portsmouth Hospital Charity Trust, by completing a
Triathlon……. of sorts!!! they swam 64mts, cycled 2km and walked 1km. Our thanks go to Louis for spurring us on and to Cams Sports and Leisure centre for allowing us to use their facilities. A great time was had by all, and the afternoon ended with some well earned refreshments.

The children of St Paul’s RC School choir singing beautifully at our service.

PVWI organised the annual Castle Creek Carol Service at St Marys church in Portchester . This year we delighted to have the choir from St Paul’s school who made this extra special and we are sure everyone who attended enjoyed the lovely choice of carols . The collection was made in aid of Portsmouth hospital trust. We would like to thank everyone at St Marys church who helped us with this beautiful service . The collection was in aid of Portsmouth hospital trust. A very big thankyou to everyone in our local community who donated prizes for the tombola. We all enjoyed the delicious home made cakes and refreshments at the end of the service.

Our members enjoyed a festive evening at the Lysses Hotel, great food, music and dancing, we also managed a chaotic rendering of The first day of Christmas. A great time was had by all.

Great evening at PVWI with a cookery demonstration from Debbie’s Kitchen. Festive stollen and sausage rolls with a difference were on the menu. I think it’s inspired many of us to try the recipes at home. Many of our members were in the festive spirit wearing Christmas jumpers and hats for the occasion. It’s never to early to start the celebrations 🤩🎄
