Happy Pride Month 🌈

This colourful design was created by one of our young volunteers to celebrate Pride, inclusion, and the importance of being able to express yourself freely and proudly.

We love the vivid, bright artwork and how perfectly it captures the energy, positivity and individuality that Pride Month represents.

At The Moving On Project, we believe everyone deserves to feel seen, accepted and supported for who they are. Pride Month is a chance to celebrate difference, stand together in support of the LGBTQ+ community, and continue creating spaces where young people feel safe to be themselves.

Feedback Friday

Counselling can help young people better understand themselves, build confidence and feel more able to cope with the pressures and expectations around them.

Many of the young people we support struggle with anxiety, self-doubt and feeling like they have to please everyone else. Having a safe, supportive space to talk openly without fear of judgement can make a huge difference to their emotional wellbeing and self-esteem.

We are proud to support young people across our community to feel more confident in who they are, recognise their own worth and know that it is okay to be themselves.

Thankful Thursday

A huge thank you to Zurich Community Trust for generously donating three iPads to The Moving on Project.

These devices will initially be used to help young people complete feedback forms and CORE YP wellbeing monitoring, allowing us to better understand the impact of our support and ensure young people’s voices continue to shape our services.

We are incredibly grateful for this support, which will help us improve accessibility, strengthen outcome monitoring and enhance the support we provide to young people across our community.

To everyone sitting exams at the moment — good luck 💛

This post was designed by one of our young volunteer, who has seen first-hand through friends and family just how stressful exam season can feel.

Exams can feel overwhelming and it’s easy to put a lot of pressure on yourself, but your worth is not measured by grades or results. You are more than exam scores, revision timetables or what happens on results day.

Try to take breaks, be kind to yourself, and remember that doing your best is enough.
Wishing all young people taking exams the very best over the next few weeks!

Exam season can feel long, exhausting and overwhelming — but if you are sitting exams this year, you are nearly there.

With the final exams finishing on 26th June, we want to remind every young person that your worth is not defined by grades or exam results. What matters most is the effort, resilience and determination you have shown throughout the past few months.

Please remember to take breaks, get enough rest, stay hydrated and be kind to yourselves during these final weeks. Small moments of self-care can make a big difference.

And when it is finally over — celebrate. Whether that means spending time with friends, relaxing, enjoying your favourite food or simply catching up on sleep, take time to recognise how far you have come.

Whatever happens next, you should feel proud of getting through a challenging time and doing the best you can.

Good luck from all of us at The Moving on Project — you’ve got this.

Wishing everyone a wonderful Bank Holiday weekend and a happy half term break.

The weather is set to be a scorcher this week — apparently even warmer than parts of the Mediterranean — so we hope everyone gets the chance to relax, recharge and enjoy some sunshine.

Whether you are spending time with family and friends, getting outdoors, or simply taking a well-earned break, please remember to stay safe in the heat, drink plenty of water, wear sun cream and look after yourselves and each other.

Please note that our office will be closed on Monday 25th May for the Bank Holiday. We will reopen and be back at our centre on Tuesday 26th May.

From all of us at The Moving on Project, have a safe, sunny and restful week.

Feedback Friday

At The Moving on Project, we know how important it is for young people to have a safe, non-judgemental space where they can talk openly about how they are feeling.

Many of the young people we support are carrying worries, anxiety, grief or difficult experiences that can feel overwhelming to manage alone. Through counselling and wellbeing support, we help young people feel heard, understood and supported at a time when they need it most.

Every week we see the difference that being listened to can make — helping young people build confidence, cope with challenges and feel less alone.

Mental Health Awareness Week

Our mental health is just as important as our physical health.
Take time to rest, speak kindly to yourself, and check in on the people around you.
A simple conversation can make someone feel seen, heard, and supported.
Let’s break the stigma together and create a space where asking for help feels ok.

At Moving On Project, feedback like this remind us why these sessions matter. Building confidence, developing healthier coping strategies, and supporting young people through change is at the heart of what we do.

We are proud to be part of experiences like this—helping people move forward with strength, resilience, and hope.
