Feedback Friday 💛🎶

George's Rockstars team know that every child communicates differently. That's why, after our music therapy sessions, we give children the choice to tell us how they're feeling through words, drawings, colours, or pictures.

This beautiful feedback from one of our young patients shows the impact that music can have. Two hearts, rainbows, sunshine, and the simple words "I feel good".

When children are facing hospital stays, treatments, and time away from home, music therapy helps them express their emotions and find moments of joy during times of uncertainty.

Thank you to everyone who supports George's Rockstars. Your generosity helps us continue funding music therapy sessions for children in hospital, creating more moments just like this.

🏥 A hospital stay can be overwhelming for a child. Cannulas, monitoring equipment, and being attached to an IV stand can be uncomfortable, restrictive, and sometimes frightening. When every movement requires navigating medical equipment, it's easy to feel like you've lost a sense of control.

That's where music therapy can make a real difference. Through music, children are given the opportunity to focus on something enjoyable, creative, and familiar. Whether it's singing, playing instruments, choosing songs, or making up their own music, they can take their mind off treatments and procedures for a while.

Most importantly, music therapy gives children choice, control, and a chance to simply be children, not patients. ❤️🎶

💜 Feedback Friday 💜

One of the most rewarding parts of our work is hearing directly from the families we support. This is why we do what we do.

Every donation, fundraiser and supporter helps us continue providing music therapy sessions to seriously ill children in hospitals across Hampshire, Dorset and Sussex, creating moments of joy when they are needed most.

Thank you for helping us make children smile through the power of music therapy. 🎸💜

We're delighted to be joining for the Dorset Tractor Tug 2026 and we're looking for teams ready to pull together for an incredible cause.

Gather six friends, family members or colleagues and take on the challenge of pulling an 8-tonne tractor 50 metres in the fastest time possible. It's a test of strength, teamwork and determination – all while raising funds to help bring music therapy to children in hospital.

📍 The Brewery Tap, Blandford Forum
⏰ 12pm – 6pm
💷 £30 per team (£5pp)
🎗️ Minimum sponsorship: £60 per team (£10pp)

*Mixed teams should consist of 3 men and 3 women for fairness.

And when you've crossed the finish line, there's plenty more to enjoy with live music, food vendors, local stalls, Rugby Tots, face painting, children's activities and the H&W marquee bar making this a fantastic day out for all the family.

Every team that signs up will be helping George's Rockstars provide music therapy for children facing serious illness, complex medical needs and mental health challenges in hospital. Together, we can brighten the toughest times for children and families in hospital through music.

So, who's up for the challenge? Tag your teammates below and let's get pulling for a purpose! 💪🎶

Music should be accessible to every child 🎶

For many of the brave children we support during their hospital stays, holding and playing traditional instruments can be difficult due to limited dexterity. We believe that physical barriers should never stand in the way of a child's ability to play, create, and express themselves.

That’s why last year we were absolutely thrilled to introduce our new CMPSR digital music controllers to our music therapy sessions!

These incredible, accessible devices allow children to trigger sounds, play notes, and make music with just the lightest touch or swipe. It completely levels the playing field, ensuring that the focus remains entirely on the joy of making music. As one of our parents recently shared, our music therapy is "suitable for every child, no matter the need or illness. Super inclusive."

A massive and heartfelt THANK YOU to the Andy T Foundation and the Freemasons. It is entirely through your generous grant funding that we were able to purchase these controllers. Your support is directly translating into smiles, laughter and engagement on the wards.

When 100% of parents tell us that music therapy makes the hospital an easier and happier place for their child, tools like the CMPSR ensure that absolutely no one is left out of that experience.

Thank you for helping us bring the magic of music to even more children! 💛
