🎶 Did you know? Every one of our music therapists has a specially equipped trolley packed with a wide range of instruments and music-making technology, ensuring there's something for children of all ages, abilities, and diagnoses to enjoy.

From percussion instruments, guitars, ukuleles, bells, chimes, and keyboards, to innovative adaptive music controllers for children who are unable to hold traditional instruments, our trolleys help make every session inclusive, engaging, and accessible to all.

These wonderful resources have been made possible thanks to the generosity of our supporters, including the Morrisons Foundation, the Andy T Foundation, and the Freemasons' Grand Sovereign's Care for Children.

By providing a diverse range of musical tools, our therapists can tailor sessions to each child's needs, empowering them to express themselves, build confidence, and experience the joy of making music, regardless of age, ability, or diagnosis.

A huge thank you to our funders and supporters for helping us bring the power of music therapy to children in hospital. ❤️🎵

🎶 If you missed our earlier post, please take a minute to read Evie’s story and share so we can find her a kidney donor.

Evie has written this song while in Southampton hospital in her music therapy sessions with our student music therapist Lucy and they have since recorded the song with an accompanying video about her journey. The song shows just how powerful music is at helping children process complex emotions and the challenges of living with serious and life threatening illness.

Thank to the The News, Portsmouth for featuring her story and listen out on Voice FM breakfast show tomorrow for an interview with Evie, her mum Sally and our co-founder Amy.

💝 Could you be Evie's hero?

In April 2025, 15-year-old Evie was preparing for her GCSEs, thinking about college and her future. Then everything changed.

After becoming critically unwell, Evie was admitted to Southampton Children's Hospital and diagnosed with ultra-rare atypical Haemolytic Uremic Syndrome (aHUS), a condition affecting just 1 in 500,000 people. Further investigations revealed two underlying rare genetic conditions: Cobalamin C Deficiency and Complement Factor I Deficiency.

Evie spent three months in hospital, missing her GCSE exams while doctors worked to stabilise her condition. Despite these challenges, she was awarded her GCSEs based on her mock results and began college in September. However, ongoing dialysis treatment three times a week meant she was later forced to leave her course.

During her hospital stay, Evie received music therapy from George's Rockstars. Working with student music therapist Lucy, she wrote a deeply personal song that gave her a powerful way to express her journey. Lucy later produced the music, and Evie recorded her vocals at SoCo Music Project. The song is now being used as part of the NHS Living Donor campaign to help find Evie a kidney donor.

"When Evie expressed wanting to use the song for the NHS Living Donor campaign, it felt like a powerful recognition of her creativity and voice." – Lucy

Evie needs a living kidney donor. You only need one healthy kidney to live a full life, but donating one could give Evie her future back.
