We have arrived! The team are down in London for the next couple of days catching up with old friends and making new ones! We're really excited to be here and see all the inspiring work thats happening around the country!

This week saw us gather together with our community for our annual celebration of all the incredible work we have achieved together. Where the Trees Meet the Seas is a chance for us to say thank you and to show the power of their support has allowed us to achieve.

The day was a wonderful coming together of likeminded people and speakers to chat and digest grand ideas and groundbreaking science, to eat together, learn together and be in nature as a group feeling the importance of our connection to the ancient woods that we are trying to restore.

We were incredibly honoured to have the legend that is Dr. Tony Kendle give a presentation on the power of trees to cool the earth. Followed by the mighty and his work on mangroves.

We were also lucky to get to host the first ever screening of trailer for their new film and get to hear a little about the project from Emmeline.

We also had an update on from flowscape collective memember himself -macdonald

There are so many people to thank for the day especially the crew for hosting us and managing our crazy chaos.

for generously providing free delicious coffee for everyone, and even serving it up!

for creating an incredible lunch, local food produced to connect us to nature it was incredible!

for fuelling the morning with mouth watering pastries

We also have to say a massive thank you to our old friend and collaborator from who gave us an update on their research station and a wonderful guided tour of the temperate rainforest.

was also there reconnecting people with our lost stories and the woods that inspired them.

It was an incredible day with so much to be grateful for and to say thank you to everyone who supports us! we look forward to the next one!!

Happy World Habitat Day! Such an important day to recognise the urgent need for habitat regeneration across the UK, one of the world's most nature depleted countries! What better way to kick-start our work restoring flowscapes and using our holistic approach to connect and restore habitats than with the help of and the amazing grant they have awarded us. With this funding, we're creating a Fish Forest in the Helford River Flowscape.

Work has already begun and we took part in the first community-led consultation, to find out how we can support the people of the area to turn the land and sea into vital new habitats for the betterment of all, humans, plants, animals and the great wide ocean!

We're really excited by this partnership with the incredible team and look forward to working together to spread our message and expand our work far and wide!

A big warm welcome to the Community for .stone.club we have been working with the wonderful humans behind this Cornish gem (pun intended) of a club all summer, they very kindly help us to put on our first preview evening of screening the film in London and have been a huge supporter of our No Trees No Seas Campaign.

"Stone Club has always been at its heart about collaboration; the notion that we are better together than apart. In order to tackle the big problems we need to work together to share knowledge and solutions. Trees are a hugely important part of the natural world, and our experience of it. They not only feed us the air to breathe but impact the ecosystem all around us. They are quite simply vital. We are acutely aware of the desperate need to plant more trees, and so we are delighted to be supporting Plant One, sharing their impactful work with our members and supporters."

We're thrilled to announce our partnership with its great to partner with another CIC who is all about giving back to our community and investing in and supporting Cornwall. Maybe one day one of our woodlands will be used as a location in a film!!

"It's really important for us to offset our carbon with a local community interest company, supporting their mission to increase the much-decimated woodlands of Cornwall. We know we can trust Plant One to not only plant location-sensitive trees for the benefit of local communities and wildlife, but also to manage saplings through their tender years until they’re safely established. And the Screen Cornwall team can’t wait to get involved in one of the volunteer days!"

Woodlands act like a giant sponge holding 60 times more water than grass when it rains.

That means water stays on the land instead of running off into streams and rivers.

Trees also reduce surface temperatures and reduce evaporation, making heatwave conditions more bearable for people, wildlife and crops. Slowing down and even preventing drought conditions.

Pretty cool right?

Even better…

When the deluge does finally arrive, because they absorb so much water, woodlands also help to reduce runoff and the risk of flash flooding.

We must restore our woodlands.
