We're thrilled to announce our partnership with its great to partner with another CIC who is all about giving back to our community and investing in and supporting Cornwall. Maybe one day one of our woodlands will be used as a location in a film!!

"It's really important for us to offset our carbon with a local community interest company, supporting their mission to increase the much-decimated woodlands of Cornwall. We know we can trust Plant One to not only plant location-sensitive trees for the benefit of local communities and wildlife, but also to manage saplings through their tender years until they’re safely established. And the Screen Cornwall team can’t wait to get involved in one of the volunteer days!"

Thank you so much for your support and trust in our work and we look froward to welcoming the team out to plant some new woodlands!

Woodlands act like a giant sponge holding 60 times more water than grass when it rains.

That means water stays on the land instead of running off into streams and rivers.

Trees also reduce surface temperatures and reduce evaporation, making heatwave conditions more bearable for people, wildlife and crops. Slowing down and even preventing drought conditions.

Pretty cool right?

Even better…

When the deluge does finally arrive, because they absorb so much water, woodlands also help to reduce runoff and the risk of flash flooding.

We must restore our woodlands.

As a CIC one of our core values is to reconnect, educate and inspire people to find their love for the woods again or strengthen that love if you're already a diehard forest fan. As we evolve and grow our approach to this value is going to grow with us and step one on that journey is to create a hub for in depth, long form stories or visual work.

So, We're really excited to announce the launch of our Blog!! We hope to fill it with wondrous writings from a wide spectrum of people, from scientists and storytellers to the community and anyone who has something to say on our beautiful wilds and the culture from within and around them.

Big news in the Plant One world! Our very first International Partner all the way from Canada and a business intrinsically connected to the trees and woodlands! Also who doesn't love maple syrup!!

"The choice to partner up with Plant One was never really a question. As soon as we heard about the work they were doing we knew we wanted to be involved. Our business is made up of a Cornish woman and a Vermont man whose livelihood depends on the health of the forest; Plant 1 is therefore deeply connected to our roots as well as to the future we hope to see for the British landscape."

We're really excited to work with the team at Jake's Maple and it means a huge amount that a company so far away sees the value in our work! Also who wants a Plant One Canada office! ( it's me … I want a Plant One Canada office 😅)

What a summer we have had! From launching our No Trees No Seas Campaign and film all the way back in March at Anthropy to six months of screenings and conversations about Flowscapes, Fish Forests and how we can restore our oceans by restoring and caring for our long-lost Forests.

The response and support we have had for this new way of looking at ecosystem restoration and our connection to nature has been incredible, it has blown us away and we can’t thank each and everyone of you who has come out to see the film, supported us by donating to our becoming a member, wanting to get involved and volunteer or offering land to create these vital habitats! Thank you 😊

This is just the beginning though! We are ramping up for more screenings, and we would love for people to get in touch if you’re keen to put on a community showing, have it shown at your place of work or organise community action in response to the film.
