Last Wednesday, Hannah had a busy but incredibly rewarding day representing Riverside Support Service.

She started the day by attending a website event, where she had the opportunity to learn new ideas, make valuable connections, and meet some truly inspiring people.

A special mention to Beccy Lotto, whose enthusiasm, positivity, and passion for supporting others is always infectious.

From there, Hannah headed over to the Roseland and, after a few wrong turns along the way, arrived at Chaos Radio Studios. She was warmly welcomed by the lovely Meah, who made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable.

During the pre-recorded interview, Hannah had the opportunity to talk about Riverside Support Service, our values, our vision for the future, and our commitment to creating positive change within our communities. Also speaking about the Mawnan Emergency Group and the work currently taking place to support neighbouring villages in establishing similar community-led emergency groups, helping communities become more connected, prepared, and resilient.

At Riverside, we firmly believe that strong communities are built through collaboration, compassion, and people coming together to support one another. Whether it's providing care and support to individuals, helping communities prepare for challenges, or creating opportunities for people to thrive, our mission remains the same: making a meaningful difference.

💜 We took one of our wonderful clients to the The Flicka Foundation Donkey Sanctuary and honestly days like this are what it's all about. 🫏💜

Watching the magic that happens when a person connects with an animal is something words can't quite do justice to. The smiles, the stillness, the joy, it's real, it's pure, and it's exactly why we do what we do.

The team at Flicka are simply wonderful. Warm, welcoming, and so genuinely accommodating, they make every visit feel special, not just for our clients but for our staff too. It's no surprise this place holds such a special corner in all of our hearts.

For our support staff, trips like this aren't just an outing. They're a reminder of why they chose this work those moments of connection, of happiness, of watching someone light up in a way that stays with you long after you've headed home.

To the Flicka Foundation, thank you. For the kindness you show, the space you create, and the joy you give so freely. 🐴✨

🌈 Why Pride Month Still Matters 🌈

Pride Month exists because everyone deserves the freedom to live openly, safely, and authentically, without fear of judgment, discrimination, or prejudice.

While society has made progress, many LGBTQIA+ people still experience criticism, exclusion, and hateful comments simply because of who they are or who they love.

Every negative remark, every act of discrimination, and every attempt to make someone feel less than reminds us why Pride continues to be so important.

Pride is about visibility. It helps people know they are not alone.
Pride is about education.
It encourages understanding, challenges stereotypes, and opens conversations that help create a more inclusive world.
Pride is about acceptance. It sends a clear message that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and kindness.

Pride is about celebration.

It celebrates the courage of those who have fought for equality, those who continue to advocate for change, and those who are embracing their true selves every day.

Pride isn't about being better than anyone else. It isn't about excluding others. It is about creating a world where nobody feels they have to hide who they are to be accepted, valued, or safe.

We believe that with every fibre of who we are.
This Pride Month, we want to speak directly to our trans friends, clients, and colleagues: you are seen, you are valued, and you absolutely belong here.

We know this is a difficult time. The recent Supreme Court ruling and the legal changes that have followed mean that trans people in the UK are facing some of the most significant challenges to their rights in years.

But here at Riverside, nothing has changed.

Our commitment to every single person in our care and on our team remains exactly what it has always been unconditional, unwavering, and rooted in genuine respect for who you are.

We are an inclusive service. We don't just tick a box and move on we show up, we listen, and we care for the whole person. Your identity is not a complication to be managed. It is a part of you that we are privileged to honour.

And while visibility matters, true allyship has always been about more than words.

At Riverside Support Service Ltd, we believe inclusion is something you live, not something you post.

There’s a difference between saying people are safe with you and actively creating spaces where they truly feel safe, respected, empowered, and free to be themselves.

For us, allyship looks like listening without judgement.
