Meet Mr Onesmus Chipula a Clinical Associate General Surgeon from Ndirande Health Centre in Blantyre, Malawi who joined the Virtual Doctors in 2025. Since he started using the Virtual Doctors app, he has experienced firsthand how telemedicine is helping clinicians deliver better care in underserved communities.

When asked about his experience, this is what he had to say:

โ€œWorking with the Virtual Doctors organisation has transformed how I deliver healthcare in rural communities. Through telemedicine, I can access specialist support quickly, make better clinical decisions and provide timely care to patients who might otherwise go without."

โ€œOne experience that inspired me was managing a child who came with huge Haemangioma of a big toe. With guidance and support from a Virtual Doctor Surgeon, I was able to manage the patient effectively despite several prior attempts leading to a positive outcome. This not only strengthened my confidence as a clinician but also reassured the patient and their family.โ€

โ€œIโ€™m proud to be part of a system transforming healthcare across Zambia and Malawi,โ€ he said.

Despite challenges in underserved areas, Virtual Doctors continues to bridge the gap between rural facilities and specialist care.

World Nutrition Day reminds us that good nutrition is the foundation of good health.

A balanced diet strengthens immunity, supports child development, improves recovery, and helps prevent many illnesses. Small healthy choices made every day can create a lasting impact on individuals, families, and communities.

Today, we join the world in promoting healthy living, better nutrition, and greater awareness of the important role nutrition plays in overall wellbeing. ๐Ÿ’š

Did you know?

An estimated 850,000 people worldwide are living with haemophilia.

Yet, according to the World Federation of Haemophilia (WFH) Annual Global Survey 2024, only 271,918 patients have been identified and reported.

This highlights a significant gap; many individuals remain undiagnosed and without access to essential care.

17 April marks World Haemophilia Day, a reminder of the need for:

Increased awareness

Early and accurate diagnosis

Equitable access to treatment

At the Virtual Doctors, we are committed to strengthening access to healthcare and supporting frontline clinicians, working towards a future where no patient is left behind.
