Fife Rural Skills Partnership Growing livelihoods on the land

Members of Fife Rural Skills Partnership include Fife Council, Fife Voluntary Action, Living Solutions, Falklands Stewardship Trust, Forestry Commission Scotland, The Ecology Centre, The Cambo Institute, Fife Coast and Countryside Trust, Scottish Land and Estates and others.

Fife Rural Skills Partnership (FRSP) comprises a group of third sector organisations, public agencies (including Fife Council, Forestry Commission Scotland and SRUC) and others involved in rural skills training and/or apprentice schemes. Our aim is to increase the capacity of training and social enterprises on the ground in order to build an enterprising workforce that will contribute to the care, management and enterprising use of Fife’s woodland, farmland and rural landscape, at a time when rural skills are facing significant threats due to age profile and the recession. Aims
To increase rural skills training and opportunities to those who are unemployed or underemployed, including young people and those with additional support needs. To support and develop a range of opportunities, placements (from taster session to apprenticeships) and route-ways to: employment and self-employment; further education or voluntary work; and social outcomes. To increase the capacity of the third sector, including social enterprises and charities, to contribute to Fife’s economic regeneration and skill development. To support member groups to provide and sustain a quality service and enhanced contribution to the care, management and enterprising use of Fife’s rural landscape. To create a sustainable approach to deliver rural skills training and jobs and a rural skills work force that is trustworthy, affordable, professional and flexible.
