πŸŽ‰ 631 SIGNATURES – THANK YOU! ❀️

πŸ’« In less than three weeks, an incredible 631 people have signed our petition in support of Falkirk Thornhill Community Hall SCIO and our proposals for the future of Thornhill Community Centre.

🀩 For a local community campaign to receive this level of support in such a short space of time is absolutely fantastic!

Tomorrow, we will submit our formal request for review to Falkirk Council, and our petition – with all 631 signatures, will be included as part of that submission.

The review process is still ahead of us, but today we want to celebrate what you have helped us achieve.

πŸ‘Thank you to every single person who signed, commented, shared the petition, displayed posters, passed it on to friends and family or simply helped us get the word out.

πŸ™Œ You have helped us demonstrate the strength of public support behind FTCH SCIO and our proposals for Thornhill Community Centre in a matter of days, and those 631 voices will now go forward with us as we take the next step.

Thank you for standing with us. πŸ˜€β€οΈ

‼️EDIT and UPDATE 26th Sept 2026 πŸ€πŸ”‡

πŸ“£ FTCH’S RESPONSE TO THE STATEMENT ABOUT THORNHILL COMMUNITY CENTRE

The Rainbow Muslim Women’s Group has published a statement about Thornhill Community Centre. It gives one account of events, but it does not include FTCH’s position.

πŸ€πŸ”‡We responded, our comment WAS live on the RMWG post on their Thornhill Community Hall page, however, they have since REMOVED IT! We are sharing the position here.

FTCH disputes serious claims in the statement about our finances and governance. It also leaves out significant information about what happened and the steps FTCH has taken to find a solution for the whole community. We have documents and correspondence to support our position.

On Monday 28 September, FTCH will submit its formal Community Asset Transfer review, including its Statement of Case and supporting evidence. We will share our account publicly and let people know when the review documents are available to read. We want the community to be able to see the evidence and form its own view.

If you would like to ask FTCH about any of the claims in the meantime, please contact us at [email protected].

We ask everyone to keep the discussion respectful. Our focus remains on securing Thornhill Community Centre for the WHOLE community. πŸ‘πŸ’œ

A huge thank you to everyone who has already signed, commented on and shared our petition to protect Thornhill Community Centre for the whole community. πŸ‘πŸ’œ

Every genuine signature helps demonstrate public support, but your comments are important too. Please tell Falkirk Council why Thornhill Community Centre matters to you, why transfer to FTCH or a 50/50 model is important, and what you want to see protected for the future.

🏑✨ OUR VISION FOR THORNHILL COMMUNITY CENTRE

These images show what Thornhill Community Centre could become under Falkirk Thornhill Community Hall SCIO’s plans.

First and foremost, it will remain a community hall.

A welcoming, affordable and flexible place for local groups, classes, activities, meetings, events, celebrations, faith groups, children and families, older people, support services and the wider community. πŸ‘πŸ’œ

Our Community Asset Transfer application is not about changing the centre into something else. It is about protecting its essential role as a community hall while improving the building, expanding what it can offer and securing its future for generations to come.

Alongside its core community-hall use, our plans include:

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦ Flexible spaces for community groups, activities, events and social gatherings

πŸŽ“ Education, training, employability and community-learning opportunities

β˜• A welcoming community cafΓ©, social-enterprise kitchen and food-bank support

🌿 Dedicated therapy, counselling and health and wellbeing spaces

🧠 Support for mental health, recovery and additional support needs

🧘 Space for fitness, relaxation and complementary wellbeing activities

β™Ώ Improved accessibility and modern facilities

🌱 A more sustainable and energy-efficient building for future generations

Our vision is for a centre where everyone can connect, create, grow and belong πŸ’œ

FTCH was established specifically to manage, protect and develop Thornhill Community Centre for the whole community.

These plans are about more than improving a building. They are about protecting existing community services, welcoming back groups that have been temporarily displaced and creating space for new groups, activities and opportunities in the future. 🏑✨

πŸ’¬ What would you most like to see at Thornhill Community Centre? Have a look through the images and let us know in the comments.

πŸ“Œ If you support our vision, please remember to sign, comment on and share our petition. The petition link is in the pinned post at the top of the Thrive at Thornhill page.

⏰ The petition closes this Saturday, 26 September.
