It was a privilege for the YVS to be invited, to not only attend Falkirk Fire Station Open Day, but to carry out a demonstration to the public. The demonstration showcased some of the work which the youths have been working hard for over the past 18 months, learning various different subjects, which are required for the role of a firefighter. The youths assisted WC Johnston, with setting up a table and further spreading the word of the YVS to interested members of the public. It was a really fun and enjoyable day which everyone enjoyed, and a huge thank you to all who attended and to the crews at Falkirk Fire Station for the invite, we would also like to thank WC Underhill from Alloa YVS for leading the demonstration.

A fantastic day at Whitburn Fire Station the car wash. Great turn out from the local community, given that the weather was less than favourable. At one point there was 4 seasons in 10 minutes! The youths, didn’t let the weather stop them and helped raise an amazing £574.17.

Huge thanks go to the crew at Whitburn for their hospitality, Group Commander Carlin for assisting and of course to the locals who came to get their cars washed, who’s support for The Firefighters Charity, YVS Falkirk and YVS Livingston is appreciated. And lastly a massive thanks to FF Marshall for organising the event. 🧼🧽🚙🚒

Any youths wanting to attend the car wash this weekend, can we request they meet at Falkirk fire station for 10am. If anyone is able to make their own way to Whitburn that would help as we can take a max of 4, and could go in convoy. Apologies for any inconveniences caused.
