The UNCRCversary

28th June 2023
Yesterday, the 28th June 2026 was the 3 year anniversary of Falkirk Champs bringing a motion to the council.
The motion asked that Falkirk start treating care experienced as if it's a protected characteristic.

It was a unanomous yes!, since then care experience has been included in Equality Poverty Impact Assessments, that check how a proposed decision will affect the care experience community positively, neutrally and negatively. This is then considered when decisions with EPIA's are taking place.

20 years later, we've taken part in writing an article for Falkirk about some of the ways we practice GIRFEC.
