Meet our intern Natalia!
Natalia is from Mexico and has travelled to Scotland to undertake a six month global studies internship here at St. James Research Centre.
Natalia loves pizza and any kind of sports, even extreme sports! Her favourite colour is purple. Her favourite place to visit is San Diego. She comes from a big family, with one younger brother and three older sisters.

We asked her some questions:
1) If money was not an issue, and you could do anything you wanted on a weekend, what would it be?
"Go surfing on Bali or diving in Australia or skiing in Switzerland."

2) What is one thing special or unique about yourself?
"I am really passionate and driven. I love adrenaline and help people feel it too."

3) What did you enjoy about your time at St. James Research Centre?
"What I really liked about my time here as an intern at the St James Research Centre was all the people I got to know and that I had a lot of time to see and get to know Scotland. The hours were very flexible, which allowed for a lot of time to explore around Scotland on the weekends and really made it feel like a home away from home!"

What a way to wrap up the girls empowerment club for the summer! Had a high standard at the talent show and some pizza! Want to say a huge thank you to our volunteers who led the club with care and initiative! Enjoy the summer will see you soon!

A certificate is a collection of courses that is geared towards a particular vocation or field of study. We have designed each certificate programme to provide a set of skills and knowledge for practitioners and researchers in education, health care, modern slavery studies, and missions.

Earn a certificate in Child and Family Social Care! This certificate is designed for practitioners and researchers in foster care and child welfare. Our courses are taught by a mixture of academics and practitioners creating a rich diversity of theoretical and experimental knowledge.

You will take a variety of courses around family care and providing services to at-risk youth, including a course on developing orphan care systems, training caregivers, trauma-informed care, shelter programmes, and one elective of your choice!!
