🎰 NEW PAYMENT METHOD JUST DROPPED
Yesterday at our Honesty Trolley, someone paid for a book with a EuroMillions stub... not even a ticket. just a stub. The discarded ghost of a dream that died on Tuesday night.
We ran it through our system. Our high-tech bookshop POS (a plastic tub with a lid) confirmed: zero funds available. Apparently "Euromillions" isn't a recognised currency at The Seagull Trust Bookshop. BTW, neither is "regret," "wishful thinking," or "maybe next week."
Here's the thing — that trolley exists because people choose to be decent. Every book you take funds Seagull Trust Cruises, a local charity giving canal boat trips to people with special needs. When you stuff a lottery wish list the tub, you're not being cheeky, funny or clever (we have cameras just for people like you)...
You're just making a volunteer fish out your garbage while wondering what went wrong in your life.
So let's be crystal clear:
✅ Cash — good
✅ Card — good
✅ A smile and a thank you — good
❌ Used betting receipts — not good
❌ Monopoly money — not good
❌ Your ex's Netflix password — not good but negotiable.
Honesty is the best policy. And the only payment method we accept.
Next time, bring coins. Or at least a winning ticket. Or maybe just tell us you don't have change today but to stuff the tin full to junk that's just poor and reflects more on you than us.
