we are proud to welcome our partnership with Calon Hearts Screening & Defibrillators UK Charity

Every week in the UK, 12 young people lose their lives to undiagnosed heart conditions. Many of these cases could be detected through a simple heart screening.

We are hosting our first heart screening on 11th and 12th July, held in memory of Jordan. Our next screening will take place on 21st and 22nd November.

Heart screenings are free for individuals aged 16–26. This appointment includes an ECG, followed by a consultation with a cardiologist.

We also offer part-funded heart screenings for adults aged 27 and over. Heart conditions can often go undetected, and a simple screening can provide reassurance and help identify concerns early.

The cost is £299 per screening (27+)which includes an ECG, echocardiogram (ECHO), and consultation. The equivalent cost through Bupa is approximately £1,181.

This is a comprehensive assessment at a significantly reduced rate—an important opportunity to check your heart health.

Good afternoon everyone. Just wanted to let you know that we are still currently using the Mare and Foal pub in Failsworth. We have been using this base for a while until we allocate a new premises, I’m fully aware of the difficulties individuals may have attending a public house, I just want people to know we have full privacy of the whole premises, nobody outside of our group is able to access the premises until our session has ended. We are always given refreshments at no cost to ourselves, we are treated with respect and given that safe space to engage with others during the most challenging times of our lives. This group is for anyone over the age of 18 who has sadly lost a loved one. Our group is between 12-2 Monday @ mare and foal failsworth.

When you lose someone…
all of a sudden you have no choice but to live in a world you don’t recognise.

It feels dark even when it’s daylight.
Lonely even when you are surrounded by people.

Only existing. Unsure of your identity now.

You can see life going on right in front of you.

You even try to reach out and touch that world. But you aren’t able to. Yet.

People out there are just living their mundane lives and seem to not have a care in the world. You sometimes try to live in that world too. This involves fake smiles and pretend interest in small talk. It’s exhausting. So you choose to isolate instead.

It would be nice to switch places with them. And not have your loss constantly replaying in your mind. All those anxious thoughts ruminating.

It’s a rude awakening when everyone just keeps moving. Laughing. Making plans. While you are suspended in time.

Just going through the motions. With a pain so deep that you can’t even exactly pinpoint where it is coming from.
Invisible to others. But it’s there. And it always hurts.

People will say “they are always with you”.
But where? It feels so long since you have heard their voice. You almost feel like you have been abandoned to roam this unrecognizable world alone. And on the other end, feel guilty for trying to move forward without them.

Loss is this way. A big ball of tangled up feelings. And it takes as long as it takes to move through these confusing emotions. It takes patience. Lots of self care and being kind to yourself.

Because grief is a lonely journey when you are the only one who truly understands how this particular loss feels.

This Sunday, December 14th, from 7:00-8:00 PM local time, candles will be lit around the world for children gone too soon.

One hour. One flame. Millions of names.
I will be lighting my candle in memory of my son Jordan and holding every parent whose heart carries this lifelong love and loss.

If you have lost a child, this light is for you.
If you know a grieving parent, this light is for them.
If you've never known this pain, stand with us anyway.

Good afternoon everyone, for those who have supported my organisation this is one of my children having an echocardiogram. I wanted people to have a little insight of what an echocardiogram looks like. Every year my children have to undergo tests, including ECG, blood pressure, echocardiogram and CT scans. Jordan had no underlying health conditions or genetic conditions so this is a precautionary measure for me and my children. 2026 we will be concentrating on raising awareness and educating our community about type A aortic dissections in children.

September 19th is aortic awareness day

This is my beautiful son Jordan, July 2021 he passed away from a type A aortic dissection with multiple organ malperfusions. Jordan had no underlying health conditions.Here in the UK my son underwent some genetic testing and he was tested against 40 known genetical conditions including connective tissue disorders and everything come back negative. I was told by his surgeon and geneticist that in his 30 years of being a surgeon he has never seen this in a child so young. Him and the geneticist told me they don't know why my son lost his life and may never know. I’m going to do my utmost to raise awareness of this disease working with people from all over the world.
