We will soon be resuming our patrols 🏡 🔦 the past week we’ve received reports of individuals attempting car door handles 🚗 as well as other suspicious activity in the area 👀 During a recent patrol the police also asked us to remain vigilant and look out for a specific car they are trying to locate 🚨

Good afternoon everyone ☀️
I’ve recently come across posts about the incidents in Failsworth—teenagers and youths causing a disturbance 😟 We’re thinking about how we can support local shopkeepers and engage with the police 👮 This reminds me of a similar incident in Droylsden a few years ago 🌧️ A florist contacted us on her way to work feeling threatened by a large group of youths smashing shop fronts 😢 The police came but when they threw bricks, the officers left advising her not to return until the next day 🚫 She had to return that evening because she was preparing flowers for a funeral of a young child the next morning 💐 So, for her, it was absolutely vital that she returned to the shop that evening I wasn’t sure what to do, so I went down—not as a crime watcher but as a civilian, a local resident concerned about our area 🌍 I didn’t go in uniform; I went with Shadow, who was under control—not a weapon, just a calm presence 🐕 After talking with them, I built some rapport, offered to take a few to the gym, and I still keep in touch with some of them today 💬 Not long after, I asked the shopkeeper to go back inside, and all the youths went in and apologized to her 🤝 I’m not saying this is the exact solution for Failsworth, but we’re thinking of ways to help the residents 🤔 It’s about finding common ground—someone they can relate to 💪 If we just rely on the police chasing them, it could make things worse 😟 So, let’s think about getting them into local gyms or activities—help them get off the streets 🏋️ Not all of them are bad; some are just being led by the ring leaders, and we need to stop this, encourage the younger ones, and get them back on the right track 🙏

| Officers have implemented a section 35 dispersal order in Failsworth, Oldham following recent incidents of anti-social behaviour.

This includes incidents yesterday (Friday 10 April) and in recent weeks where groups of young people were reported to be causing criminal damage at a business, as well as causing concern to local communities.

These measures have been introduced from 12:00pm on Saturday 11 April 2026 and will remain in place until 07:00 on Sunday 12 April 2026.

This is what a resident in Failsworth found this morning after leaving their house. When they checked their CCTV, it showed individuals had been on their driveway during the night 🙁
