Many , many thanks to these awesome boys, Olly and Sam, who raised an amazing £51:30 for Eyemouth Herring Queen last week 🤩 They live in Birtley and love coming to Eyemouth for their holidays and weekend breaks 😊 Such a lovely and extremely thoughtful idea to set up a stall outside Occasions selling their books and toys that they longer need and donate all the money to us 🥰xx
They also had the pleasure of presenting the money they raised to our lovely EHQ 2025 Miss Grace Gillie 😍

WE NEED YOU !!!
We, the Eyemouth Herring Queen Committee strive to bring a wonderful festival each year . Along with all of you, we also love nothing more than seeing the Queens, past and present and their Courts enjoy and take pride in their role, representing our fabulous town and the long standing tradition of Eyemouth Herring Queen 👑 ⛴️ 🐟 We love the week of events and the crowds and participation throughout 🥰
However ….. and this is the crucial part 😐
The committee are small in number and each of us have full time jobs, family and other commitments. Due to rising costs with every aspect of our festival we are needing to organise many fundraising events and are continually asking for support from you all and we are extremely grateful for your ongoing support and generosity in helping us with this.
The truth is … we need more committee .
We need more invested time to maintain EHQ
We need new, fresh and exciting ideas.
We need help.
We need you.

We picked up some great prizes at the weekend to raffle as part of our fundraiser this week in memory of local legend Jamie T 💙 As most of you will know, Jamie loved football, especially his local team Eyemouth United Amateurs so we found some super prizes to commemorate the upcoming FIFA World Cup which we know Jamie would have enjoyed watching. Tickets are now on sale (£1 per ticket) so feel free to pop in anytime to buy some. All proceeds from the raffle are going towards Eyemouth Herring Queen Eyemouth United Amateurs and Berwick RBL Pipe Band & Eyemouth RBLS Pipe Band - 3 of Jamie's great loves. Going to be a fab day!!🫶🏼👑🐟

Still time to get involved in this years Herring Queen event. Each year KULT Fitness puts on a fitness event to help raise funds for our beloved Herring Queen.

This years event is called “Race for Grace”
The event is Sunday 24th May.

Start time is up to you but earliest slot is 7am.

What event involves:

3mile Run/Jog or Walk starting and finishing each time at KULT. The challenge this year is to start every hour on the hour and complete a 3mile loop. You then come back to KULT and rest/refuel etc, and then on the next hour you go again.

Event is running 7am-2pm meaning people could complete 21miles max. The challenge is though to stop and then have the determination and will power to start again!

This is a great event to do in groups or individually.

We are going to be closing the entries for this event on 18th May, and getting in touch with all participants to find out what time they will be starting event (it’s every hour on the hour)

Anyone asking about children doing this event, they are more than welcome if they stay with parent at all times (donation for child is welcomed) any other donations from people that can’t come on day are welcome. And finally T-shirts/vests for event can be purchased looking for orders of T-shirts by 10th May to get them made in time.

WE NEED YOUR ADVICE…
We know you would all agree that seeing all our past queens banners on display throughout the summer is wonderful.
This year we feel it necessary to look at a new way to display them. Due to strong winds these past few years we have lost a few banners and many got damaged. The brackets on the lampposts and also the connecting poles have also deteriorated over the past 11 years and getting a secure fixing is becoming difficult. So, all things considered we feel that the lampposts are no longer a safe way to display our banners 🙁
But where else or how else can we display them ???
Please, if you have any ideas then we would love to hear them .
