Here is some of the children’s artwork from our last project ‘Fired up’. We used burnt materials- charcoal and carbon black ink- to explore the theme through drawing and dry point etching. As well as experimenting with materials, they learnt about the legend of the firebird, how fireworks are made, and the causes and impacts of wildfires. Their etchings are of seeds and plants that regenerate through 🔥 Tutors thanks to Activities Unlimited for funding

Time to book for our next project! Eye Arts Club offers a fantastic standard and range of activities for 7 to 17 year olds. Over the years, it has been attended by 100s of children and young people taking part in exciting projects including art, dance, theatre, film, animation, puppetry and electronic art. Some have even gone on to art, film or dance training at FE and HE levels.

Experienced tutors welcome children and young people with different levels of ability and provide an integrated setting where participants with additional needs are supported. No previous experience of the artforms is necessary. We provide the opportunity to learn new skills through both traditional techniques and high quality digital equipment. The outcome is that all can learn to :
- express themselves creatively
- co-operate and support each other
- develop and communicate ideas
grow in confidence. Comments from participants and parents/carers: "Thank you so much. It’s been fun and I would like to do it again".
"M. really enjoys Eye Arts Club, her confidence has grown and so has her interest in the arts".
"Provides our son with SEND an opportunity to express himself. A safe space to make new friends and be yourself".
"It really helped build confidence and encourage the mentality of seeing projects through, working together, and having fun!"
"A perfect place to explore his gifts, his desire to create and express himself...run in a positive and happy way allowing him to be fully himself and make great new friends"
"Wonderful to try out new technologies. Very well supported and encouraged".
"Very engaging and creative. She enjoyed each week and began to see new things around her through a different lens". Thanks to Activities Unlimited and MidSuffolk Babergh DC for funding.

Another Eye Arts Club project finished! We learnt about an oak tree as a ‘world within a world’ supporting over 2000 species. The children and young people made artwork, wrote poems and devised dance about the species we found including gall wasps, squirrels, jays, and bats. and will be starting a new project in January.

First session back this morning. We’re looking at an oak tree as a ‘world within a world’ to inspire creative responses. Apparently a single tree can support over 2000 life forms. The children today found a spider, a banded snail, an acorn weevil, lichen, marble, knopper and silk button oak galls, ivy and feathers from pigeons and a magpie.
