Another fantastic community cafe day today. Plenty of locals and visitors enjoying local bakes and a cuppa. Oh and the odd go at Tombola too.

We're open again tomorrow and the rest of the week so please do come see us.

Lots of beautiful cakes baked by locals in Burdekin Hall this August Bank Holiday week. All in aid of raising funds to repair our chirch roof.

It's Small Charity Week

We’re pleased to share that the work on the church windows is now complete 🙏 — but this has left our bank balance completely empty, and there’s still so much more to do.

*Urgent works include:*
• Water ingress between the porch and main building
• Decoration of remaining windows
• Repairs to the front door
• Fixing altar ventilation
• Interior decoration (and more!)

We are exploring grants, but options are limited due to strict eligibility criteria, so we are relying heavily on community support.

We’ll continue fundraising (including Well Dressing Week), and our Treasurer is still raising funds through selling your second-hand clothes 👗 — but unfortunately, more fundraising is needed.

💡 We’re looking for volunteers and ideas for fundraising — please DM us if you can help.

🙏 Any donation, small or large, one-off or regular, would mean so much. You can donate in church or online here:

Support us through donating clothes you no longer need.

The Friends of St Hugh's Foolow are always looking for simple, meaningful ways our community can support the work we do. One of the easiest — and most impactful — is by donating good‑quality clothes from established high street or designer retailers that you no longer need.

Instead of gathering dust in a cupboard or ending up in landfill, your pre‑loved items can help raise vital funds for our projects.
We will list donated items on Vinted, and 100% of the proceeds will go directly to maintaining the fabric of our beautiful church. It’s a small act that makes a big difference.

contact [email protected] and we can arrange a collection.

Your donations turn everyday items into real impact.
