Eyam Santa’s Grotto

Wow in the blink of an eye it’s May already and work on the grotto is well underway so as to be ready for November when we reopen for our 23rd year. For the last 3 years we have organised a special night which we labelled as an Autistic night asking people to book in online for a 15 min slot and the people who visited us have had an amazing time. But numbers have been low sometimes only 4 bookings. Question is this am I wasting my time? Am I doing something wrong ? We open to the public On a Friday and Saturday and Sunday night. But decided to run the Autism night on the Thursday night in 15 min slots from 5-8pm but we have struggled to fill just one Thursday night when technically we could run all 4 nights during December. Do I need to rebrand this event instead of an Autistic night should we run a “SEN” night ? Please could you comment letting me know your opinions at the moment the Grotto has a ramp so is fully disabled friendly any advice would be most welcome x

Hi everyone I am trying to upgrade the grotto for this year by having some toys of yesteryear under the tree it doesn’t necessarily have to work but it must look good the idea is to show the visiting children and parents what the popular toys were at Christmas in years gone by. As my budget is extremely tight I’m looking for anything that is free or very cheap if you can help please comment on this post thank you x

After much consideration we will be changing our name on here to simplify things. We will still be the same team that have always run this event but just with a new simper name. We are doing this to try and help people find us and to make life simpler.
