Looking for a free, creative summer activity for a young person in your life? 🌿 💙

Transition Exmouth is inviting young people aged 8-21 who live or study in Exmouth to imagine "a sustainable future for Exmouth where people and nature thrive together." They can create a response in any format: drawing, painting, writing, photography, music, dance, sculpture, science projects... whatever inspires them.

All entries will be showcased in our digital gallery from 6th - 8th August AND at our FREE community event on Saturday 8th August at Open Door Exmouth where the public are invited to join us and vote for a winner from each age category to take home £150! We'll have live acoustic music, wellbeing activities, nature-inspired activities and the chance to celebrate young people's creativity and support their ideas for the future.

We'd love your help encouraging the young people in your family to get involved.

Competition entries close on the 2nd August... let's show them that their voices, ideas and hopes for Exmouth matter. 🌊 🌱

Transition Exmouth's mission is to develop climate preparedness and resilience at a local scale, by supporting people to foster a strong sustainably minded community in Exmouth. Children and young people are of course an absolutely crucial part of this, but it's easy for them to despair, and become overwhelmed with anxiety and worry for the future. As part of our mission, we are keen to inspire and support future generations to tackle the climate crisis head on, in joyful, creative ways; we hope this event will be the first of many to come, so come down and show your support!

Become a Beach Hero this summer! 🦸‍♀️ 🦸‍♂️

We're SO excited to launch Beach Heroes here at Sideshore, a brand new and free summer holiday challenge for children aged 5-12 ✨

Throughout the summer, children can take part in a range of exciting activities led by some fantastic local organisations, including Charlie's Beach School, the RNLI, Plastic Free Exmouth and Sea Swim Devon.

From discovering coastal wildlife and learning sea safety skills to beach cleans, sea swimming and creative coastal activities, Beach Heroes is all about building confidence, connecting with nature and caring for our coastline.

Children will complete missions, collect stamps in their Beach Heroes passport and earn beads for their Beach Heroes bracelet along the way.

Bookings for led activities open on 10th July.

Who do you know that would love to become a Beach Hero this summer? 💙
