Thank you to everyone who’s joined us at different events and activities over the summer holidays.

It’s been lovely to meet so many new faces, see familiar ones and spend time together in the community. There’ve been some really special moments, and it’s been great to see people getting involved and making connections.

I’m now heading off on annual leave for a couple of weeks until Tuesday 8th September, but I’ll be popping back out on Saturday 29th August for the Pride in Place Summer Festival, so I’m hoping to see some of you there!

What a brilliant afternoon of circus fun! We had a fantastic turnout for Alex’s show, with a wonderfully full crowd enjoying all the laughter, magic and circus silliness.

Thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a special afternoon.

And a massive thank you to Alex for coming along and putting on such a fantastic show -you’ve helped make this summer so much fun for everyone!

I’m excited about our upcoming bat walk through Eastern Fields!

Space is limited, so if you’re keen to come along, please do sign up quickly. It’s going to be a lovely opportunity to explore the fields after dark and discover the bats living right on our doorstep.

We had a great Pokémon GO walk!

A big thank you to Marie for the lovely idea of bringing people together, and to everyone who came along. We had some pretty wet weather, but were very happy to see the rain!

If you didn’t make it this time but would like to get involved in future Pokémon Go get togethers in Whipton, let me know. We’ve been discussing setting up a WhatsApp group to make it easier to connect when people want to get together for battles and raids.

Really looking forward to the first-ever Whipton & Heavitree Festival at Hamlin Lane Playing Fields on Saturday 29 August, from 12pm–4pm.

It’s going to be a lovely opportunity to come together, have some fun and celebrate the brilliant communities of Whipton and Heavitree. There’ll be live music, art, sport, skateboarding, escape room challenges and plenty more to enjoy.

And free ice cream for the first 400 people!

After some lovely ladies at the Star Inn mentioned how keen they were on the idea of line dancing in Whipton, we had such a great response that the brilliant Whipton Hall is now going to put on line dancing on Thursday evenings at 7.30pm!

More details to follow, but we’re really looking forward to getting Whipton dancing!
