🚨 PROMOTION POST

Last night saw Cadet O. Bate promoted to Cadet Corporal.

Cpl Bate's maturity, leadership and desire to help others is why he has stood at amongst the Squadron Staff.

Tonight saw Flt Lt Williams, Officer Commanding present our newest member of staff with their certificate of appointment and we are delighted to welcome (Officially) Mr Spaull who has joined 2469 as a Honoury Civilian Instructor.

Mr Spaull has a history with the Air Cadets, having spent time as a Cadet in Cambridgeshire before heading to Devon. Mr Spaull has a keen interest in everything Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) related and is looking to aspire the next generation to head into one of these fields.

It's been a busy weekend for , Saturday saw a number of cadets head to for an amazing tour which included an on-board visit to one of the waiting aircraft. We also had a few cadets who were trained on the Scorpion Air Rifle, followed by a live shoot.

Today (Sunday) our Cadet NCOs along with 5 cadets aspiring to be NCOs attended a training course covering 'What is expected of an NCO', JNCO and SNCO role specific training, all to help our Cadets develop in their existing roles and to help enhance their skills to take the next step.

Wow! What an amazing evening last night at our annual awards ceremony. We managed to present a number of Awards, Certificates and even managed to squeeze in a few Promotions.

Our worthy winners of the awards were;

• The NEF Cup (Best Cadet in newest intakes): Cdt Thompson

• First Class Award (Most committed Cadet during training): Cdt Watson

• Leading Cadet Award (Highest score in exams): Cdt Emery-Loze

• Senior Cadet Blade (Highest score in exams): Cdt Williams

• Master Cadet Award (Highest score in exams): Cdt Cpl Lenton

• Attendance Shield (Highest attendance at unit): Cdt Kowalczuk

• Aircraft Recognition Bowl (Highest score in test): Cdt O. Bate

• The NCOs Cadet Award (Most supportive cadets for our NCOs): Cdt Kuliesas

• The Millennium Community Cup (Most community events attended): Cdt Heardson

• The Adventure Training 25th Salver (Highest achiever in all things AT): Cdt Hussain

• The Best NCO Shield (Best cadet NCO): Cdt Cpl Hurley

• Most Promising Cadet (The cadet likely to become a NCO): Cdt Williams

• Uniform Award (Best uniform): Cdt Cpl A. Bate

• Cadet of the Year (The most supportive and engaging cadet): Cdt Emery-Loze

• Officer Commanding Shield ( Awarded to the cadet who has gone above and beyond): Cdt I. Ahmed

We were delighted to promote Cadet Williams to Corporal and Cadet Cpl's Hurley and Ward to Sergeant's.

Unfrotunately, we also had to say goodbye 😢 to CWO Conibeer, Cadet Sgt Duffy and Cadet Rogers, all of whom will be missed. We wish them all the best for the future.
