🎉It's Fabulous Fundraiser Friday! We're celebrating the fundraising achievements of Chris Butler in Somerset. Since 2023, Chris and friends have been holding an annual family football and fun day, in memory of Chris Lang, who tragically lost his life due to Sepsis, leaving behind a widow and two young children.

They were hugely grateful to South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust crews for the support that they received, and have been supporting us and the UK Sepsis Trust with their event fundraising over the last 4 years.

Despite being incredibly hot, a lot of fun was had and the community event was enjoyed by all. A big thank you to all the organisers, participants and supporters who collectively helped to raise over ÂŁ3000 in support of and .

💚Thanks to our colleagues from South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust Staying Well Hub for sharing this photo with us from their recent visit to the Dorchester Ambulance Station.

Staff there have used donations made to our Charity to help create a lovely little outdoor space, as getting outside and seeing greenery is so important to staff well-being.

(In view of possible incoming hosepipe bans, does anyone know whether plants will thrive with cold tea and coffee remnants? 🤷‍♀️)

😊Huge thanks to the Chippenham Lions Club for their generous £500 donation to support volunteer Community First Responders (CFRs), by contributing to equipment, training and resources, so they can deliver vital work across the local community.

CFRs volunteer to respond to help local patients, often ahead of ambulance arrival. They can provide lifesaving CPR, pain relief and often much needed reassurance. They can also assist ambulance crews on arrival.

Pictured is CFR Chris Moore receiving the award from Chippenham Lions Club Chairman.

The donation reflects the club's ongoing commitment to improving the lives of people throughout the Chippenham area, whether through fundraising, volunteering or supporting organisations that make a lasting difference.

Thinking about installing a community public access defibrillator (CPAD)?

There are many organisations and charities that can help communities purchase a defibrillator package, and it’s important to choose the option that’s right for you.

We’re pleased to share a new referral partnership with Heartbeat Trust UK. If you choose to purchase a CPAD package through them after being referred by South Western Ambulance Charity or South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, Heartbeat Trust UK will make a £100 donation to South Western Ambulance Charity. Find out more at swambulancecharity.org/communityresilience.

Those donations will help fund initiatives that strengthen community resilience to out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, including Community First Responders, community defibrillators and other life-saving projects across the South West.

If you’re looking to purchase a CPAD, search online for ‘community public access defibrillator packages South West’ to explore the range of providers available. If you decide to purchase through Heartbeat Trust UK via our referral, you’ll also be helping to support the vital work of our charity.

Every defibrillator installed has the potential to save a life ❤️

Behind every ambulance response is a dedicated team who deserve a place to reset and recharge.

We’re delighted to have supported Camelford Ambulance Station with funding to improve their outdoor space. Thanks to a grant secured by South Western Ambulance Service Charity from NHS Charities Together , combined with the passion and hard work of the station team, they’ve created a welcoming area that everyone can enjoy.

It’s wonderful to see how funding, teamwork and creativity can come together to support the well-being of our ambulance station colleagues.
