Royal Air Force Air Cadets - 13 City of Exeter Squadron ATC Welcome to the official page of 13 (City of Exeter) Squadron RAF Air Cadets.

We are one of 27 Squadrons and 2 Detached Flights located within Devon and Somerset Wing and operate out of Wyvern Barracks in Exeter. Both cadets and staff are keen to live by the Air Training Corps motto “Venture Adventure” and to uphold the three aims of the corps. Our Squadron motto is “We Help” which is reflected in our service to the local community. Cadets and Staff participate in a wide range of community activities such as collecting for the Poppy Appeal and the RAFA Wings Appeal and crowd management and car parking at a range of events such as the Torbay Half Marathon and WestPoint fireworks. In addition to community service our cadets also have the opportunity to participate in a vast array of activities from Duke of Edinburgh to Overseas camps and BTEC Qualifications to Flying and Gliding.

ARE YOU A REFRIGERATION ENGINEER — OR DO YOU KNOW ONE?

We could really use your help!

After a very long period away, we’re finally preparing to move back into 13 (City of Exeter) Squadron and get our building ready to welcome our cadets home.

Unfortunately, we’ve discovered that our much-loved commercial chiller has decided this would be the perfect time to pack up! 😬

Our Google troubleshooting skills have taken us as far as they can, and it’s definitely time to call in someone who actually knows what they’re doing.

We’ve approached an engineer and have so far been quoted around £500 just to attend and investigate the fault. As a volunteer-run youth organisation, that’s a significant amount of money for us before we’ve even started looking at the cost of any repairs.

So we’re reaching out to our local community.

If you’re a refrigeration engineer, work for a local refrigeration company, or know somebody who might be willing to take a look at the unit and help us diagnose the problem at a reduced cost, we would be incredibly grateful to hear from you.

Even if you can’t help directly, a share of this post might put it in front of someone who can.

Please drop us a message if you think you may be able to help.

Today, members of 13 (City of Exeter) Squadron joined Devon & Somerset Wing in Exmouth to commemorate the Battle of Britain.

We were especially proud of Sgt Parsonage, Cdt Saundercock and Cdt Barlow, who provided musical support to the Wing throughout today’s parade.

A fantastic representation of 13 Squadron on an important day of remembrance.

We will remember them.

Last night after a long six month away from our Squadron HQ cadets and staff from 13 Squadron returned to Wyvern Barracks and whilst we are not yet back in our own building we celebrated nonetheless with a BBQ and Sports night.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to the Met Office for welcoming us into their building over the last few months.
