Apparently it is “age without limits day “ today. We’ve no idea who decides this but we are very happy to raise a glass to our “elderly “ volunteers - most in their seventies and one an octogenarian, without whom Britannia would be a wreck bit about to take to the seas again!!

At the end of Volunteers Week we just want to say Thank You on behalf of Britannia. We don’t know what would have happened to her without the dedication and commitment from all our volunteers past and present. You are all so much appreciated and Britannia will sail the seas once more because of you ❤️❤️❤️⚓️⛵️

So whilst we’ve all been sweltering in Exeter this week we thought we’d share some old pics of Britannia more than 30 years ago sailing in the Hebrides in a heatwave. I know where I’d rather be!

Tomorrow's Falmouth Working Boat race is in honour of Feety Spear.

Feety had a wealth of knowledge of the harbour and the fleet.
He was the mainsheet hand on board Toby West's Victory, sailing for well over 60 years. He was also the milkman for Flushing village and so the trophy's presented in Feet's memory are in the shape of milk bottles.

Large Working Boat, B Class start is scheduled for 14:30
Small Working Boat, C Class start is scheduled for 14:35

The race is being run by Flushing Sailing Club and the prizegiving is being kindly hosted by The Royal Standard Pub in Flushing.
