SWECASS (South West of England Student Society) is funded by the ICAEW and run by a committee of students in the South West. The aim of the society is to use the funding to provide events for students to enhance personal developments, provide support and help. The committee meet on a regular basis to arrange events and to discuss what students need to help us decide what events you would benefit f
rom. SWECASS is here to help you:
- Meet other students and socialise
- Develop skills beneficial in the workplace
- Have some fun outside of work and studying
- Relax
- Input into the future of the ACA
- Network with other professionals
Each region in the UK (and some internationally) will have a student society which will hold regional events. We are a relatively small society with around 200 students spread over Cornwall, Devon and Somerset. We try to hold events in various locations to cover the large geographical area and will also invite young members to some events to help students in their journey through their studies and to support young members after they have completed their studies. Events are generally marketed to students and young members through email from Trudi Coles. Trudi is our regional representative from the ICAEW and supports the committee in their organisation of events.
