Work Set to Resume on Heavitree Splash Pool Project
Residents can expect to see visible progress on the new Heavitree Splash Pool project later this month, with specialist contractors due to return to site during the week commencing 27 July.
Although there has been limited activity visible in recent weeks, Exeter City Council has confirmed that substantial work has been progressing behind the scenes. This has included the procurement of specialist equipment, holding tanks and key plant required for the delivery of the new facility.
The Council has also worked closely with local partners, including Parklife and Heavitree Bowls Club, to deliver essential utilities upgrades needed for the project. These works have enabled the installation of electrical connection and secured access to a water supply from the Bowls Club, both of which are vital to the operation of the new splash pool.
The specialist contractor, Splash, is scheduled to be back on site from the week commencing 27 July to begin the next phase of construction following completion of the preparatory works.
While major capital projects can occasionally encounter unforeseen challenges, the Council has confirmed that the overall delivery programme remains unchanged.
i am sure we were all disappointed that the pools could not remain open, however this is a welcome update.
Residents seeking further information can follow official Exeter City Council communications channels on Facebook for future updates on the project. Or Iβll post here when I have them.
