🚁 Yesterday, we had the privilege of visiting Cornwall Air Ambulance alongside Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and Essex & Herts Air Ambulance

It was an inspiring day of sharing knowledge, showcasing our CPR and Defibrillator Awareness programmes, learning from each other’s experiences, and discussing how we can work together to help more people gain lifesaving skills

A huge thank you to Barbara Sharples MBE and the Cornwall Air Ambulance team for their warm hospitality, the tour of their fantastic airbase - and bravely presenting both Devon and Cornwall scones!

🚨 We’re nearly ready for our biggest and boldest Heli Hike yet on Saturday 4 July — we just need 6 amazing people to step in and marshal route markers to ensure the day is safe, smooth and super fun for everyone!

We know it’s a big ask:

It’s a Saturday.
It’s summer.
And we’ve been chatting about this one for a while… (so thank you for sticking with us!)

But if you (and maybe a friend or family member) can spare 4 - 6 hours in the Bigbury or Loddiswell area, you’d be helping us cross the finish line in style 🙌

But one of our crew HAS just returned from Antarctica 😎

Critical Care Paramedic Nigel recently spent two months on secondment with the British Antarctic Survey, supporting scientists in one of the most remote environments on Earth

In Devon, our crews are never far away, but in Antarctica help can take days to arrive. Here, Nigel’s role wasn't just about responding to emergencies, but staying one step ahead — preparing for injuries, extreme cold and prolonged isolation

🚨 When the weather is too foul to fly, our helicopters have already been called out, or if an incident is right in the middle of a built-up area, our crew jumps into one of four Critical Care Cars instead

They carry exactly the same specialist medical equipment, kit and team as the helicopters - just on four wheels rather than rotors!
