PARKING ON COLLINS ROAD AND SURROUNDING AREA 🅿️

Michael has been following up on concerns raised about parking on Collins Road, Mayflower Avenue, and Sheppard Road, amongst other roads.

Michael is pressing officers to allow for a parking review, which will be on the agenda for tomorrow’s HATOC meeting.

Once a parking review has taken place, then residents will be consulted by the county council - he will write to you once this happens to make you aware.

A busy weekend - Saturday started off with a meeting with fellow Liberal Democrat county councillors discussing now that Local government reorganisation in Devin is paused how the County Council can develop working partnerships with other councils and groups in Devon to improve services for local people. In the afternoon out campaigning in the ward and pothole spotting. Now that the Lib Dem County Council is investing in our highways the road system is getting the investment it has needed for years. On Saturday evening I was delighted to be a guest at the 80 years celebration for Exeter CA. Our campaign to get renewed funding for Exeter CA from Exeter City Council was successful this year when £150k was allocated for the next two years. Sunday out with my ward colleague Cllr Tammy Palmer at the Prospect Park street event. The residents make newly arrived students in their street welcome and encourage a real community feeling. Monday a county council committee meeting awaits and in the evening we have the full Council meeting of Exeter City Council.

GOOD NEWS FOR STOKE HILL ESTATE!

We're glad to share with residents that a parking review can now go ahead on the Stoke Hill Estate after months of waiting.

Since before Cllr Mitchell's election in 2025, he's been working with residents on Margaret Road and Stoke Hill Crescent about the parking issues they've faced for a number of years.

The money for the review has been paid for by the developers of the Exmouth Junction site as a part of their planning permission.

Residents can expect a letter from Michael about the upcoming public consultation and what to expect - keep an eye out for more details!

Out early this morning in support of the campaign for major improvements to the Stoke Hill roundabout. I was able to reassure the campaigners that design work for an improvement roundabout scheme is well under way and is hoped that a public consultation on the options will take place in the first half of 2027. This roundabout must be made safer for pedestrians and cyclists.
