WILL IT BE 50 DAYS OF RAIN?
If we have any rainfall tomorrow up to midnight, then it will have rained every day in the last 50 (30th Dec).
This is already the longest period since my records began back in 1990.
Silverton weather station, mid Devon.

MORE HEAVY RAIN (or snow)
Wednesday sees a low slip along the south and this could pull in colder air and turn rain to snow. It's not a certainty it will be snow here yet.
What it will give is another wet spell with more flooding in places.
There is a big change coming though as most of any heavier rain after this goes northwards. Although there will be some more rain to end the month it won't be heavy. Certainly more drier weather.

We have another spell of uncertainty coming up tomorrow night and into Wednesday. Depending on the temperature on the ground and temperature aloft, we might get some snowfall. It could be disruptive if it happens.
No one will know until Wednesday.

Good sunny spells with a few showers. Some places might stay dry.
Blustery winds easing later with a frost tonight.
Mostly fine tomorrow as well but rain, sleet or snow arriving later. Not sure where the snow will fall yet if any.

Cloud clearing later to sunny spells. After a chilly start, the temperature will be rising.
Today we are at 48 days with consecutive days that rain has fallen.

For the first time in 24 days the water has finally dropped of the measuring board.
This is on the flood plain of the river culm at Columbjohn, Killerton.
However, the water will rise here again tonight with more rain coming.

MORNING VIEW AND FORECAST
At last at sunny start to the day with a frost in places.
Will this be the first dry day in 47 days? It will stay dry until this evening but unlikely to stay dry until midnight.
Lots of sunshine but high cloud moving in later ahead of the rain tonight.
Winds will be light but picking up again later.
