Last month, two of our SNCOs attended the Surrey wing award night where the wing comes together to celebrate the high level achievements of all of the cadets around Surrey Wing.
Well done to FS Joubert who was nominated by the squadron for the best cadet competition for her hard work around the squadron.
Congratulations to CWO Richards-Scully who was chosen to be one of two cadets in Surrey Wing to represent the wing in the national Dacre sword competition, which aims to find the best cadet in the corps. This meant that the CWO went for an interview with the Regional Commander. Best of luck to her.
Big well done to both and we hope to see a few more of our cadets in attendance next year.

Recently, the Metropolitan Police’s Territorial Support Group joined 323 Squadron to do a demonstration, play some games with the cadets and give them an insight into a potential career with the police. Here’s what our cadets had to say:

“During the local police visit we got the opportunity to see a variety of the equipment that they use. The spoke us through handcuffs to gas masks, letting us try some things out. This was really interesting as it gave us an informative view into their lives as officers in their sector. Additionally we were able to do a variety of activities experiencing what it was like holding their shields in a riot like simulation. Overall it was really informative learning about that line of work and the officers were really patient with our questions, creating such an exciting experience.”
- Cdt Stygal

“Since I have started RAFAC it’s been wonderful having so many opportunities and I feel great at the squadron with all the friends I have made. I have especially enjoyed the TSG night.”
- Cdt Bhattacharjee

✈️ Aircraft of the Month: Eurofighter Typhoon

Built for speed, agility, and air dominance, the Eurofighter Typhoon is a modern multirole fighter used by air forces across Europe and beyond.

With twin EJ200 engines, Mach 2 performance, and extreme maneuverability, it excels in air-to-air combat while carrying advanced weapons like Meteor and Storm Shadow.

Fast, lethal, and versatile — the Typhoon remains a top-tier fighter in today’s skies

Welcome to Aircraft of the month!

The General Dynamics F-111 Aardvark was a groundbreaking Cold War-era aircraft, renowned for its versatility and innovation.
Introduced in 1967, the F-111 was a supersonic, medium-range fighter-bomber designed to meet the U.S. Air Force’s need for a multi-role aircraft. It was the first production plane to feature variable-sweep wings, allowing it to adapt its aerodynamics for high-speed flight or efficient cruising. Powered by twin Pratt & Whitney turbofan engines, the Aardvark could reach speeds over 1,600 mph and fly at altitudes up to 59,000 feet. Its terrain-following radar enabled low-level pe*******on missions, making it highly effective in evading enemy defenses. The aircraft served in roles ranging from strategic bombing and nuclear delivery to reconnaissance and electronic warfare, with variants like the FB-111 and EF-111 Raven. Used extensively during the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm, the F-111 proved its adaptability before retiring in the 1990s (2010 for Australia), leaving a legacy of innovation in military aviation.

A special congratulations to CWO Sinclair and CWO Scully for their promotions! Cadet Warrant Officer is the highest rank you can achieve in the RAFAC as a cadet and they have both worked incredibly hard throughout their years in the corps to reach this achievement. We are excited to see how they develop our squadron with our current CWO in their new positions!🎉
