The cubs were working on their teamwork skills on Monday, working on semaphore, to communicate to their team mates, before taking part in a survival communication game, where they put their new skills to use.

On Friday, the Scouts continued with their prep for scout camp, with a reminder on how to put up the dining shelters. It was great to see the older scouts guiding and supporting the younger ones, sho may not have seen the unique shelters before.

This was all followed by a game, where they first had to figure out how to set up the ladders.

Ready... Steady... Cook!

The explorers were challenged to create a meal on Friday, using only the ingredients provided, and the spices in stores. With chicken thighs, plum tomatoes, sweet potato, onion, courgette and rice, they were able to create a very tasty curry.

This is all great preparation for summer camp, especially for some of our newest explorers.

Cub and Beaver Camp 2026!!

On Friday, our Beavers,Cubs,Scouts, and Explorers were up at Boiderhurst for a brilliant campfire run by our scout leaders.

Then, on Saturday, it was an early morning with the sun up, as the scouts, Cubs and Beavers learnt how to do a proper kit inspection, before heading out on a very warm hike around Headley heath, with some den building along the way.

Then it was back to camp for some pioneering, where the beavers and Cubs used their new skills to try and build the tallest tower.

On Sunday it was time for some Backwoods cooking, where they were all lighting fires, learning how to properly lay down sticks and strike the fire, so they could cook their lunch.

We'd like to give a massive well done to everyone who camped with us! It was great to see people on their first camp, and also see our older Cubs showing responsibility.

Warm weather meant the scouts could get outside this week, and recap how to put up the patrol tents, in time for next week's over night camp, and prep for summer camp

Last weekend the explorers travelled up to London to take part in the 2026 monopoly run. They travelled all over London to earn as many points as they could, taking pictures with animals, police and a famous bear.

At the weekend our SASU team took a trip up to London to compete in this year's monopoly run. Throughout the day they traveled all over London, from Bounds green to Buckingham Palace, taking a photo at each location
They scored a whopping 1200 points and placed 37th.

The scouts took a trip to Boiderhurst camp site on Friday, to test out their waterproof experiments from last week.
Luckily all their experiments worked, and remained waterproof throughout the downpour!

A great success to end the term, with a sing along and some Marshmallows.

The Beavers celebrated the last night of term with some energetic team games. They needed corporation, coordination and a lot of giggles.

On Monday, our Cubs explored the local area with a walk around Epsom town centre. They learnt about the history of places like the clock tower, the Emily Davison bench and the Market place.
