A wonderful evening of life drawing at Bourne Hall with our model, Roshni. Members enjoyed a series of short and longer poses, exploring gesture, form, light and shadow through observation and sketching.

Life drawing is a fantastic way to develop drawing skills, improve understanding of anatomy, and build confidence in mark-making. It was inspiring to see the variety of styles and interpretations created during the session.

A special thank you to our model, Roshni, for her patience, professionalism and wonderful poses. We are very grateful for the time and effort she shared with us.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to such a friendly and supportive atmosphere.

Every artist sees the same pose differently and that's what makes life drawing so fascinating.🎨

A huge thank you to Joe Norris for hosting such an informative, encouraging and enjoyable session. Joe's insight made the evening both valuable and fun for everyone in the group.

Thank you as well to all the artists who bravely shared their work and contributed to such a supportive atmosphere.🎨

A huge thank you to Hashim Akib for an inspiring acrylic demonstration at Epsom & Ewell Art Group yesterday!🎨✨

Hashim demonstrated how he creates vibrant and atmospheric street scene in acrylics, sharing his confident brushwork, expressive use of colour and dynamic approach to composition. Watching the painting evolve from bold abstract shapes into a lively city scene was fascinating and inspiring for everyone attending.

Originally working as an illustrator for leading newspapers, advertising and design clients, Hashim later moved into fine art and quickly gained recognition for his distinctive style. He was awarded Artist of the Year by the SAA (Society of All Artists) in 2009, has exhibited at the Mall Galleries in London, and is the author of several popular art books including Painting Portraits in Acrylics and Acrylics Companion. His work is held in collections both in the UK and internationally.

Thank you, Hashim, for sharing your passion, expertise and creativity with us, it was a truly memorable demonstration!👏

A wonderful evening of colour, texture and creative freedom at our acrylic workshop with artist Joe Norris.🌿🎨

Exploring abstract composition through a spring woodland landscape pushed us to loosen up, experiment and enjoy the process.

Thank you, Joe, for your inspiring guidance, generous teaching and encouragement to play with colour, especially the magic of phthalo green mixes!
Such a fun and energising session for everyone involved.✨

A truly inspiring evening once again with Julie King, who joined our art group to share her beautiful watercolour work on Wednesday!

Alongside the demonstration, Julie brought a selection of her paintings, each one full of colour, delicate balance, and mark making. Seeing her finished works up close gave us an even deeper appreciation of her approach to composition and her intuitive use of colour.

"Bound by Gravity" invites the viewer into a quiet orbit where movement and stillness coexist.
Planets drift across the surface, held together by unseen forces.

Working with glass paint, acrylic, and spray paint, Sophie continues her exploration of materials, layering textures and transparency to create depth that shifts with light and space.

Shown here within an interior, the piece reveals how it lives beyond the canvas, becoming part of the room, subtly altering the atmosphere around it.

Sophie's work is rooted in experimentation, guided by a love of materials and what they can become when pushed beyond expectation. Cosmic influences, natural rhythms and a touch of mystery run through everything she creates.
