This post touches my heart and reminds me of the craziness of living at The Greeneryβ¦on the edge of a village, but not of the village, close to a town, but nowhere near town lifeβ¦this little scrap of earth is its own dimension of magic. The home of the moon and the stars, the burial place of the ancestors, this little space is home. π²πΏππ₯πΊπ΄ππππ
Something happens when you reject the terms and conditions of your culture. It changes you, when you live impossibly, when you do things that everyone says cannot be done.
When you become who everyone says you should not be, because it is too much of something or not enough of something else. These are the great palace lies passed down to you by your culture, your closest ancestors, slaves to institution and tradition.
Listen: When you leave it all behind you, you will feel like you are perishing, because there are sharp pains when the axe comes down upon the chains and the shackles that bind you to a life that forbids you to follow the song in your soul.
The people who love you will say you are a dreamer. They will call you foolish. They will tell you that you are entering a place of danger. They will ask you to stay in the tiny cage with them, where they know you are safe behind the bars of a life too small for you. For them. For anyone who is not living in the aliveness of their wildness and divinity.
Don't you listen to them. Listen to that one note singing in the back of your mind. Listen to the drums in your pelvic bowl. Listen to the crows warning of the death taking hold in your spirit while you are trying to meet the hollow demands of your culture. Listen to the blue heron who wants to show you what peace is like. Listen to the owl screeching through the tree tops at night. Listen to the full moon, calling you into the forest of bones.
You cannot be average and have a magical life. You cannot be submissive to the artificial constructs of the world around you and expect to deliver the miraculous, untold fortune of divinity to the people of the world.
You must have courage. Your lion-heartedness will see you through. Take the leap, and watch the net appear, like magic. Jump from the cliff as a frightened human being, and discover your angelic wings half-way down to the abyss.
Fortune favors the bold, the wild, the mad and the true. Do it. Never look back.
