Happy International Day of Play !
The United Nations has designated 11 June as the International Day of Play, recognising the power of play at the heart of a happy, healthy childhood. Inspired by Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, which states that every child has the right to play,
This year’s campaign theme is Protect play, protect childhood.
Evidence shows that happy and healthy childhoods are built on play. Play isn’t just fun, it’s essential.
Through play, children learn to forge connections with others, build a wide range of leadership skills, develop resilience, navigate relationships and social challenges, and conquer their fears. Play helps children to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

🌟 Celebrating Our Amazing Volunteers 🌟

At EAPA, we are proud to celebrate the incredible people who give their time, skills, and energy to support our community every week.

From our volunteer committee members, administrators, kitchen team, maintenance volunteers, bike mechanics, and pantry helpers, to those who support our wraparound care, alternative provision, and fundraising activities – every role makes a real difference.

Over 25 volunteers joined us last week, helping us deliver the services and support that our community relies on. Quite simply, we couldn't do what we do without them.

To each and every volunteer: thank you for your dedication, kindness, and commitment. Your contribution is valued, appreciated, and truly makes a difference in people's lives. ❤️

Free entry and free lunch - hotdogs & burgers with salad 🍔🌭🥗
Bring some pennies for the cold drinks machine, but there will be water and squash available too. 🥤

Make sure you slap the suncream on and bring hats! ☀️☀️🕶️

We have had some support over the past week- a fundraising event organised at Springs Holiday Park, a donation from Kate Unwin who gave a talk at the WI , and support in the form of a volunteer day from Capitol Resolve -their staff helped shift a tonne of chippings and started construction on our climbing wall (bits rescued from the skip at the leisure centre). THANKS!!
