Fluoride’s children used to get ill with malaria due to mosquito bites while they slept.

Now, they no longer wake up covered in bites due to mosquito nets from World Outreach Initiatives, Blythswood’s partner in central Africa.

Fluoride is very thankful for these nets as they are well-installed and leave no room for insects to enter. She says, “It really came at the right time.”

In 2025, WOI distributed 150 nets to low-income households in Burundi, with a further 150 in January 2026.

We're Hiring!

We're looking for an experienced and motivated Trusts and Foundations Manager to help grow income from trusts, foundations and other funding partners.

This is a strategic fundraising role, building strong, long-term relationships with funders and securing significant support for Blythswood’s work.

Working as part of the Communications and Engagement team, with colleagues and international partners across Africa, Asia and Europe.

The role has an Occupational Requirement for the postholder to have a genuine and active Christian faith and church commitment and to fully subscribe to Blythswood’s Statement of Faith.

The 2026 Shoe Box Appeal has officially launched, and we’d love for you to be part of it!

For Mihajlo, Blythswood Serbia’s after-school programme has been about more than maths, languages and study habits.

While browsing the bookshelves, he noticed the materials for Hope Explored, a three-session introduction to the Christian faith based on Luke’s gospel and translated for use in Serbia.

After a brief conversation, Mihajlo joined the course along with other teenagers. His previous understanding of Christianity was mostly about form and tradition. After three lessons, he realised that the Christian faith isn’t about rules – it brings freedom, peace and love – and that Jesus is the true purpose of life.
