Sunday 12th September 2021, 10am - 3pm
Starting in Etton, and chugging through Deeping Gate, Market Deeping, Deeping St James, Peakirk, Glinton, Northborough & Maxey
Tractors will gather on The John Eve/Glebe View field between 11.30 am and 12.30 pm (approximately)
All proceeds will be divided equally between
MIND Charity No. 219830 and RABI The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution Charity No. 208858
A small organising team has sought and received approval from both Cambridgeshire Constabulary and Lincolnshire Constabulary and Highways to hold the above event and we are now writing to all Parish Councils along the route (attached) to keep you informed of our plans. We have also received permission from Market Deeping Town Council for the convoy of tractors to gather on the John Eve / Glebe Field at which point there will be an opportunity for children to have their photos taken with their choice of tractor. Apart from raising funds for two charities, MIND and RABI, the route goes through well populated areas in order to maximise the number of people who can enjoy the Run, especially those who are housebound and/or elderly. As well as up to 120 vintage and modern tractors there will be an opportunity for a lucky family to win the experience of riding the entire route in a WW11 DUKW and enjoy a picnic hamper whilst on board. At the moment we cannot be specific about timings but we are arranging for the event to be tracked on line so that spectators can see where the convoy is along the route and then anticipate it's arrival in their road, village or area. We see this to be a very much needed community event after the difficulties of the last year or so and hope that everyone will join in as we pass by their homes or on the John Eve Playing Field to support our Tractor Spectacular
………………………………………
This ‘tractor spectacular’ in being organised in memory of Graham Robinson and Adam Siggee. Graham, whose family started farming at Howe Farm, Glinton shortly after WW11 until 2019, attended Stamford Boys School before embarking on a career in hospitality. Adam, also from Glinton, died tragically following a serious motor accident in February 2020 at the age of 29, leaving a young daughter. The funds raised will represent a tribute to their memory.
