Ecocultures

Ecocultures A cross-disciplinary research consortium at the University of Essex studying community-level resilience and sustainability.

Ecocultures are communities from whom we can learn the art and science of sustainable living. Researchers from across University departments, in conjunction with several external partners, explore how sustainable communities function, how they develop, and what we can learn from them. We examine the extent to which Ecocultures are resilient to the deepening 'perfect storm' of globalisation, climat

e change and degradation and the extent to which Ecocultures could help in the wider planetary transition to sustainability. A number of exemplary case studies are available in the book entitled ECOCULTURES published in November 2014.
