Back in August 2018 you generously supported Dr Mark Wheeler's Click campaign, fundraising to take a group of military veterans with PTSD to France to research the effect on their symptoms.

The campaign attracted the largest donation from an individual on our platform with a University of Essex Alumni giving £1,300!

Fast forward to today and Mark's pioneering work in the treatment of through outdoor activities, such as fishing has earned him a place in the MadeAtUni Nation’s Lifesavers list. Find out more his research below: 👇

We thought we'd update you on the progress of Zeina Alsharkas 'Swimming for hope' project which you supported via her Click campaign!

BBC News have featured an article on Zeina's story which we thought you might want to take a read of.

Once she completes her challenge she'll become on of less than 2,000 swimmers who have achieved the feat and she'll also be welcomes ashore by her sister, Hela, who is currently studying in France!

See how Nigerian artists are seeing, conceiving and responding to the issues around Niger Delta at this exhibition set to open in May 2019 at Art Exchange.

A group of MA Curatorial Studies students in the School of Philosophy and Art are fundraising to create this exhibition exploring how Nigerian artists use art as a vehicle to inform, educate and raise awareness environmental, social, political and cultural situation of the region and the impact on people who live there. There will be:

👉workshops
👉a film screening
👉artist performances
👉school outreach programme related to climate change

With less than a week to go and the fundraising target in reaching distance we'd like to ask you to dig deep and help them reach their target!

The University of Essex Students' Union - Colchester Kitchen recently fostered one of our Donate Your Pennies Pigs to collect spare change - and it turns out our piggy had a fabulous time! 😄

Thanks to our supporters who visit here we raised £14.03 (plus 23 cents in euros and 5 cents in dollars!) in just three weeks 😍

“I want to use the knowledge I gain from my postgraduate studies to better understand and help that community. I’ve been able to gain first-hand experience of psychological research through my department’s Research Experience Scheme, which will enhance my career employability in the future".
