🎄Looking for a fun, active way to give back to your local community next January? Join our fleet of volunteer elves for the Princess Alice Hospice Christmas Tree Collection between 8 and 11 January 2027! We need local helpers, navigators, van owners and tree lifters to pair up with drivers and help us clear 1,400 trees across designated KT postcodes.

We will supply a hot breakfast to fuel your morning, pre-mapped routes, and plenty of festive camaraderie. You just bring warm layers, a bit of energy and a willingness to help your local community. Give a few hours, a day or the whole weekend, it all makes a huge difference.

💫 September was a busy and bustling month of community connections across Kingston and Richmond, from sunny market mornings to vital conversations about inclusive care, our outreach team has been out across our neighborhoods:

Shona and Bridget, supported by your fantastic volunteers, raised £285 at the New Malden Farmers Market and met brilliant prospective volunteers. We also spent time at New Malden, Chessington and Kingston food banks sharing local support resources.

We had our fourth session with Kingston Involve learning disability peer advocates to help shape our new charter and visited Richmond Mencap's Working Together group to talk about hospice care and bereavement support.

Rehman joined the Richmond Faith and Belief forum to introduce our new Interfaith Steering group, spoke on grief in Muslim communities at Scene Enrichment and attended the Turkish cultural event at Etna. We also welcomed Weil from Spectra for third session on creating inclusive spaces for LGBTQ communities.

We welcome the Mayor of Richmond upon Thames Councillor Nancy Baldwin for a visit to the Hospice and our team spoke with students at the Kingston University Freshers Fair.

On Wednesday 7 October, Steve Nolan, our Bereavement, Spiritual Care and Counselling Lead, will join guests from local organisations for a discussion exploring grief, memory, childhood experiences, mental health and wellbeing.

The evening will begin with a special film screening of Charlotte Wells' acclaimed debut Aftersun, followed by the discussion.
