It fits, just about..
Provided nobody else turns up 😇
A standard UK parking space is approximately 4.8 metres long by 2.4 metres wide.
The Jaguar Type 01 is 5.2 metres long and 2 metres wide.
Even when perfectly centred, that leaves roughly 20cm on either side, while the doors require around 76cm to open properly.
And that calculation generously assumes the drivers beside you have parked perfectly between the lines 🫣 A big ask these days, unless your start your new years resolution early.
This isn’t a review of the Jaguar, and we’re not judging whether people should want one. We aren’t necessarily the target customer.
The video has some fun with the idea, but the question behind it is serious:
What happens when an impressive product leaves the launch film and meets a world that refuses to rearrange itself around it?
Customers experience cars in parking spaces, driveways, streets and everyday routines.
It is a car after all, unless the plan is to admire it from the window or research every car park before leaving the house.
At Marketni, we look beyond how impressive a product appears. We consider how it works when customers actually have to use it.
Where does the friction begin?
What limitations will customers discover?
Which frustrations could have been anticipated before launch?
We apply the same thinking to businesses and their marketing.
An offer can look brilliant, attract attention and generate interest, but that means very little if the real customer experience doesn’t work.
Good marketing doesn’t hide friction. It finds it before the customer does.
