Stoneleigh & Auriol Neighbourhood Plan Referendum – Important Voting Information

Dear residents and business owners of Stoneleigh & Auriol.
We’re nearly there – and this is an important moment for Stoneleigh & Auriol area.

On Thursday 12 February 2026, residents will be asked to vote in the Stoneleigh & Auriol Neighbourhood Plan Referendum.

✅ A YES vote gives our Neighbourhood Plan real legal weight
🏡 It ensures planning decisions reflect local priorities
🌳 It strengthens protection for green spaces and neighbourhood character

Without a YES vote, the Plan cannot be used in planning decisions.

🗳 Polling Day Information
Date: Thursday 12 February 2026
Hours: 7am – 10pm

Polling Stations:

Stoneleigh Methodist Church
1 Stoneleigh Crescent, Stoneleigh, Epsom, Surrey, KT19 0RT
Stoneleigh Baptist Church
The Glade, Epsom, Surrey, KT17 2HL
Your polling card will confirm which polling station to attend, as with other elections.

👉 Please make sure you vote, and if you can, encourage neighbours, friends, and family locally to vote too. A strong turnout will help give our community a lasting voice in planning decisions.

🎄✨ Wonderful News for Stoneleigh & Auriol! ✨🎄
Your Neighbourhood Plan has reached a major milestone — and we’re excited to share it with you.

Over the past few months, the Plan has:
✔ Completed its Regulation 16 consultation
✔ Been submitted for examination (18 May 2025)
✔ Been reviewed by Independent Examiner Christopher Lockhart-Mummery KC
✔ Received a recommendation (23 Oct) that it should proceed to referendum
✔ Been formally accepted by the Council’s Licensing & Planning Policy Committee (25 Nov)

🗳 Referendum anticipated: 12 February 2026

On this date, residents in the Neighbourhood Area will be asked:

“Do you want Epsom & Ewell Borough Council to use the neighbourhood plan for Stoneleigh and Auriol to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?”

This is an important step for giving our community a stronger voice in shaping local development.

We’ll share more information in the New Year.
