The Biggest Picnic - CHANGE OF PLANS! ☁️➡️☕

Well… the countdown was going beautifully, but the weather clearly didn’t get the memo this time! 🌧️

We’re not cancelling, just changing things up a little.

📅 Saturday 6 June
⏰ 12–3pm
📍 Now at Quakers in Epping Forest | Friends Meeting House, Hemnall Street, Epping, CM16 4LL

Instead of the park, we’ll be gathering indoors for a warm, relaxed get-together - think cups of tea, cakes, nibbles and good company. ☕🍰 🥪

Please still bring along something to share (homemade or shop-bought - all welcome!), and if you can, a long-life food item or toiletry for the new Epping hub of 3Food4U.

It may not be quite the picnic we imagined, but it’s still a lovely chance to come together - just without the soggy sandwiches!

And don’t worry… we’ll plan our Big Picnic properly when the sunshine decides to cooperate 🌞

Looking forward to seeing you there - indoors but just as friendly 😊

P.S. You can still park at Stonards Hill car park – it’s only a 5-minute walk to the new location

This June, we’re celebrating Pride - a time to recognise and support our whole LGBTQ+ community in Epping and beyond. It’s about kindness, visibility and making sure everyone feels they belong.

Our community group has always been about bringing people together, and making sure everyone feels able to be themselves.

And while some places have been asked to keep things quieter this year… we think celebrating inclusion, diversity and respect is something to be championed openly and proudly - always.

It’s Small Business Week and Epping has certainly got plenty of those to celebrate, each adding something unique to the character of our lovely high street! From Little Sew n Sews at one end to Lathams at the other, there’s plenty more in between including independent cafes & restaurants, clothes shops, beauty salons and of course Epping’s very own Churches butchers.

How about giving a well deserved shout out below to the small businesses that you love in Epping? And please share a reason why you’d recommend them to others - is it their friendly service, great quality and range of products or maybe it’s simply that they offer very reasonable prices?

🎵 Calling All Local Musicians and Bands! 🎵

Epping for Everyone is excited to be hosting a Community Music Night, and we're looking for talented local performers to get involved.

📅 Date: 12th September
🕖 Time: 7:00pm
📍 Venue: Central Epping (already booked and ready to go)

All musical styles welcome – from country to classical, choirs to soloists, rock bands to acoustic acts. If you have a passion for performing, we'd love to hear from you.

This is a community event designed to bring people together through music. It is not a commercial event or fundraiser, and any income from the evening will simply go towards covering hall hire and event costs. As a result, we're unfortunately unable to offer performance fees, but we'd be delighted to showcase local talent and provide an opportunity to perform for the community.

Email us at [email protected] if you'd like to be involved. 🎶

Henry Nowak’s tragic death has had a profound and far-reaching impact on his family and the wider community. Our thoughts remain with his loved ones as they continue to endure an unimaginable loss, and they remain firmly in our thoughts during this difficult time.
The recent convictions of Vikrum Digwa and Kiran Kaur have brought renewed attention to the case.

Whole communities are of course never responsible for the actions of individuals, and this powerful response from the Sikh community is a reminder that, as always, we are stronger together.

Looking for something to do after Epping’s Biggest Picnic next weekend? We can recommend a trip down the road to see the Theydon Bois Drama Society’s production of The Girl on The Train. Tickets are on sale now for performances on 4-6th June. A few of us saw their last production (a musical comedy) and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, so do go along if this is your sort of thing!
