Thank you to everyone who attended our ‘Welcome to The Jungle Book’ Culture Night event on Friday 19th September 2025.
There was a great buzz in Ember Community Hub as groups of explorers adventured through the jungles of Central India in search of Mowgli, meeting a few interesting characters along the way.
Guitar teacher Joshua McManus (JMc Beginner Guitar ) aka King Louie, accompanied by his student Henry and son Padraig, led a fantastic singalong of ‘I Wanna Be Like You’. This was followed by a wonderful interactive tale from The Storyteller of the Swamp Teresa Kane. In a dramatic fashion, The Tribal Teacher Tracey Kernaghan taught the explorers how Mowgli hides in his jungle surroundings by acting like all sorts of animals. After a delicious jungle-themed supper, the trail ended with a special moonlit rendition of ‘The Bare Necessities’ by Ballinamallard Silver Band.
We want to give a special thanks to all the volunteers who made this event possible. The organisers Victoria Roberts and Jessica Campbell who passionately devoted their time and energy to make this night a great success. The performers Joshua McManus, Teresa Kane, Tracey Kernaghan and the members of Ballinamallard Silver Band, who shared their exceptional talents. The front of house team; Abigail Grey, Doreen Byers, Noelle Ralph, Caroline Campbell and Leslie Campbell who made sure the event ran smoothly. The sound technician and photographer/videographer Shaun Bannon who captured the atmosphere of the night. Last but not least Kenny Fisher for all his help and support throughout the event.
A big thank you to the local children and pupils of Ballinamallard Primary School who created incredible jungle-inspired artworks which were on display as part of an exhibition at the event.
We are also very grateful to The Natural Beauty Pot, Dougie Armstrong, Osborne & Co., Severfield and Ember Coffee Shop for providing props and equipment.
The event was sponsored by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council.
