🌆 Participate in Shaping Havant's Future: Final Opportunity for Public Consultation 🌆 The final draft of Havant's Local Plan is now available for public review, and we encourage you to provide your input before it is submitted to the government for approval. Examine the plan and consider:

*Does it meet the requirements of being legal, sound, and consistent?
*Does it align with your vision for Havant's future development?

Share your thoughts, opinions, and concerns with HBC by 9th September and contribute to steering the borough's growth. For guidance on the plan and the consultation process, visit: https://www.havant.gov.uk/planning-services/planning-policy/local-plan/building-better-future-plan.

The Emsworth Residents' Forum (ERF) will focus on Emsworth-specific issues, but you can also submit your comments and concerns directly to the council. If you would like the ERF to include your thoughts in their submission, please email [email protected] by 31st August. Don't miss this opportunity to have your say. 📝

A Town Council for Emsworth

At the full council meeting of Havant Borough on 22nd July the decision was made to proceed with the creation of a parish council in Emsworth. Hayling Island will also have a parish council.

The Forum would like to thank all residents, organisations, businesses and community groups who took part in the consultation process. Having a parish/town council will help to ensure our voice is heard, in supporting the wider community and in Keeping Emsworth Special.

The feedback, including any concerns that were highlighted, will play an important part in informing the development of the new council. Information, together with the relevant reports and next steps, is available on https://www.havant.gov.uk/community-governance-reviews-borough-havant

Bloor Homes has now submitted an outline planning application for the Southleigh development — a scheme of around 1,800 homes on the land between Emsworth and Denvilles. Although this site sits just outside our boundary, the scale and location of the development mean it will have a major impact on Emsworth, our infrastructure, and the daily lives of residents.

The planning application is large — over 120 documents — and can be viewed here: https://service.havant.gov.uk/pr/s/detail/a1ESl000007BRDl?tabset-ff68f=3

As a statutory consultee, the Emsworth Residents Forum will be submitting comments. We want our response to reflect your views, so we’re asking for feedback on three key issues:

1. A27 Link Road

The 2017 consultation suggested a direct link to the A27. The current application includes no link road. Do you feel improved public transport and active‑travel options make this acceptable, or do you believe a link road is still essential?

2. Wastewater Capacity

The local wastewater system is already under strain. Should increased treatment capacity be a requirement before any new development goes ahead?

3. Essential Infrastructure

Plans include a primary school, local centre, mobility hub, community park and recreation areas. Which infrastructure do you consider essential to support a development of this size without adding pressure on Emsworth?

Please share your views using the feedback form by Wednesday 29th July https://forms.gle/3QPvgnK9qHvDE6NGA. Your responses will directly shape the ERF submission.

You should also submit your own comments to the Planning Authority via the link above. Every voice helps show that Emsworth residents are engaged and expect responsible planning.
